Honest Question: Why all the Hatred towards anything DotA related?
I don't see how they can't co-exist. LoL isn't the only Computer Game out there.
Nor is it the only MobA.
Please give me non-salted non-flaming answers.

Because over zealous fans. Same reason why XBox and PS are always fighting, but they still fun fine individually.
LoL came from Dota and it wants to be the alpha male.

I have almost never seen any LoL to DotA related hate outside of Youtube comments since a couple of years ago (but then I don't go places like reddit, 4chan or 9gag), even then, I have seen more DotA to LoL hate in those comment sections.
AoS was a starcraft mod (1st moba). That idea was ported to the War3 engine. Its when it actually gained traction and real popularity. Spawned the need for LoL and HoN due to the lack of matchmaking, poor game client, etc.
If you see some OG dota 1 players (i didn't play), they might be extra salty cause of what pendragon did. He ran the community site will all the community ideas for improvements. He got hired onto Riot, closed the site and left a link to LoL. Thereby destroying dota's community site and causing some real hate.
As of most of today's hate its that age old my game is better than your game argument (which i try to be open minded). There's a lot that dota does better...and the things that LoL does better, but doesn't interest me much (softer learning curve, something to grind, spamable skills, fanservice, funny skins, etc).
