i only lookat at it to see if im taking more magical or physical damage than i think i need to be so i can counter build with my resists more intuitively.

i dont even bother looking at the numbers otehr than the %s for a rough ball park of what it claims wasted my ass the hardest.

I don't even look at it for that anymore. I just look at who got involved, what they did and how to prevent it again, be it counterbuilding or positioning. It's a mental toll sometimes, I'll say that much. But the death recap is so awful I'd prefer do mental stuff the entire time over even bothering to click that thing.

It was working correctly one or two seasons ago. Riot fucked it up and refuses to fix it.

Anyway, death cap is so incredibly buggy, I once had a Syndra killing me along with a Dark Sphere getting an assist by dealing 107 magic damage (with Dark Sphere).

I think for the longest time Sunfire would register as Revive... but I think the damage #'s were still correct, so I don't know your problem

All i see is the Veigar ult doing almost 1k, but yeah ive noticed that a few times in matches. Im not sure of the reason due to the fact that it happened with several different champs.

My friend got credit for killing someone as blitz even though he was on the other side of the map... and the person got executed by a tower... Yeah....
