Epic Account Security Fail by RIOT

Someone was able to hack my friends account by lying to RIOT.

The thief tells RIOT that he wants to reset my friends account's password.

Thief states that "his" current email is inactive (my friends very active email) and can't reset the password.

Thief makes similar email and says my friend's email is old.

Riot tells the thief they are sorry for the inconvenience and resets the password for thief.

Friend sends Riot emails saying his account was hacked and is able to get all of his info back in about 4 weeks.

Thief was dumb enough to remove all of my friend's friends and add his own circle of 5 friends.

Somewhere there is a fail employee that needs to be fired.

Not likely. They ask you what your first RP purchases were, which is something a stranger can't know unless you tell them.

I suppose it's possible that someone at Riot failed, but it's also possible that your friend isn't telling you everything (or you're in on it).

Where did you get all this information about the emails between riot and the person who stole the account?

Mistakes happen, but when I had a request they wanted to confirm it was mine. They ask like a half dozen questions about your account including purchases. Even as the owner of the account they were hard to answer.
