How League of Legends can Help Teach Life Lessons
Dear community,
I'm a fairly new League of Legends player of four months, and I have to say, it has been a roller-coaster of ups and downs in my time playing. I'm currently silver IV trying to improve as a player, and it has been quite a journey to get this far to say the least. During my games I have occasionally raged and typed aggressively toward my teammates, and I always feel bad later, even if I thought it was justified at the time. I know when I'm doing badly and I get raged at, it certainly does not help me to improve. I've slowly learned to separate my negative energy from the results of the game, and take League for what it is - a game of skill where we are all trying to improve. Instead of flaming when teammates tell me what I did wrong, I thank them for their feedback. I refuse to ooze even the slightest tone of negativity, and be a supportive member of the team, whether we are winning or losing.
Improving my attitude in League of Legends has helped in other facets of life, such as my job and my relationships. It has taught me that no matter how frustrating a situation is, addressing it with a positive frame of mind will almost always lead to a better outcome and better emotions than addressing it with toxicity and anger. If someone on my team is being toxic or using phrases like "this " or other blame-game language, I try to come to their defense, because the only thing that blaming does is bring down that person's spirits.
Please join me in creating a more friendly and less toxic game environment, thanks.
