Rant: Matchmaking Imbalance

So, I've been struggling through the mess that is solo que to try to get to Gold by the end of the season. Last week I hit Silver 2 finally, and won a pair of matches before beginning what I have come to expect every time I promo: A series of horribly imbalanced unwinnable matches. I would think that riot would have some sort of system in play to balance things if say, a player goes 2/12/3, or a pair of players post those scores, or a pair of players afk or feed intentionally and are reported. So that they would be relegated to being put in a sort of suspension temporarily or paired with players of similar habit as a sort of punishment, a way of keeping the good, fair, clean players away from those who have been toxic or negative to their teams. But sadly this is not the case. After posting a match history of 14-3 and burning my way through silver 3, I am now 3-10, demoted back to Silver 3, and while, being honest, a few (2-3) of those matches were guided to failure by my mistakes, the vast majority were a sense of "Their team is balanced, cooperative, and working together, while my team either has AFK, has a troll pick/intentional feed, or a slew of toxic players who couldn't care to win or lose and are only here to bring others down."

It's entirely frustrating, and ruins the main purpose of this game: Fun. This game is supposed to be fun. Whether you are playing competitively or casually, this game is supposed to be about fun. But an unbalanced matchmaking system, a lack of proper and effective disciplinary action, and an overabundance of players who patrol ranked specifically with the intention of feeding and bringing others down ruins the fun of this game.

As a side note, part of this rage comes from my most recent game. A thorough, team based victory in our hands, throw away by my mid laner and top laner abandoning the team silently, ignoring our pings and chat to get them to return, and diving bot lane on their own as we lost a 3v5 mid. They then proceeded to continue diving for bot lane and the full team pushed in and won our mid lane, took the nexus, and won the game from literally nowhere. The two players refused to acknowledge chat, refused to acknowledge pings, and in the post game lobby simply left immediately without a word. Tell me how a player is supposed to climb out of this elo when player types like that exist. With a malicious intent to lose games and bring others down? And the greatest joy? They are both right back in que playing another, probably doing this for another group of unknowing players.

I agree. As it stands right now, Bronze-gold rank ARE NOT FUN! Riot has severely fucked up everything this season to cause this, from their toxic system not hitting the people that it needs to hit, to promos being held hostage by intentional feeders.

Example: I started today at 55 points into bronze 1. I'm now attempt number 3 on my bronze 2 promos after 8 games of trolls, intentional feeders, and a terrible match making system allowing not one, but TWO duo ques into 3 of my matches, twice on the opponents team, and once on mine. (hence me now going back into the bronze 2 promo's).

I know that I'm better than my rank, but these intentional feeders need to go.. Bring the fun back to ranked!

I can totally relate. Bronze was the same, silver was horrible, and gold is just a combination of bronzies and silvers. The best thing I can tell you is play some hypercarry champs that go well early game and snowball into late. Also watch some pro streamers and try and learn how they view the game, because a diamond+ player obviously views the game differently. Another thing you will notice is they try to avoid talking to people that are doing bad, etc. Typing just makes you lose cs and therefore makes you preform worse. Youll notice when you start improving by the way. It will feel pretty awesome man. Best of luck on the rift!
