First of all, is it ① or ② (in the picture) that lights up?? I've been questioning this to myself forever. Secondly, what do they light up with? T..the golden tears of supports? Fireflies?? Support Brand???? pls

I'm really curious right now, someone please answer these questions for me. But seriously I need some official information about wards.

Inb4 what's a ward?? never used one

You play a game where a giant scorpion, ancient yordle that was frozen in ice forever and wears a dinosaur costume, giant animated teddy bears, an invisible stripper that runs around in heels, plus perfect mustaches... and you question the lighting mechanic of a ward.

However. Thank you for pointing out that this now irritates me.

For what it's worth, I've always considered it to be "2" that actually 'lit up' within the game world. The symbol above it is more of a User Interface device to clearly label and differentiate enemy/friendly wards or yellow/pink.

As for what it is that makes them glow, I couldn't tell you. The ward certainly looks like a plant, perhaps its bioluminescent, a plant that formed a symbiotic relationship with Champions of the battlefield. When the ward expires it doesn't just explode or poof out of existence, it sort of wilts. So maybe it releases new seeds and by planting wards we're spreading them throughout Runeterra

Oh wait, no, Lore doesn't exist anymore so that can't be it.

Tbh, I asked this question because I'm trying to make a ward and I'm planning to put a lightbulb inside it. I personally think the light comes from those bulbs on top of the ward but I'm just gonna put it in the ward anyway. http://evertokki.deviantart.com/art/Wardmaking-in-progress-538560891 Here's a sneak peek!
