They aren't just as screwed as LOL is.

Maybe this will make us feel better since they pay 15 dollars a month and have the same access to their game..

LizardSquad screwed with the servers again.

Blizzard really? You seriously couldn't prevent a 2nd DDOS in less than 24 hours?

Multi-million (billion?) dollar company can't protect against any type of DDOS is said imo

Did I miss something while I was gone? What is LizardSquad?

How do we know they're doing it? Did they just post on their Twitter about it again? :o

Hacker group, DDoSing WoW.

Yes they put it on Twitter.

It isn't about perfection. I just find it silly that a hacker group can DDOS the biggest and most active MMO. I do feel bad for Blizz. I suppose it is pretty hard to prevent that kind if stuff.

blizzard should trace their IP and plant a virus on their pcs.

yes that is how it works +1

Wow...second night in a row with those guys.

According to their twitter one of them was already Doxed and arrested. who knows who though, I never saw news about it

It's not that simple to trace the IPs. They will keep it up for a few hours then get bored and go do something else.

hope Lizard Squad is having fun now, because they won't be when a heavily-armed police unit or team of Feds kicks in their doors and arrests them for various Cyber Crimes, all of which are Federal Offenses. They were stupid enough to post their exploits on social media, ALL of which (from Twitter to Facebook to Youtube) are monitored jointly by the NSA and the FBI. The Feds either already know who they are and are obtaining search and arrest warrants or they will be doing so within the next few days. In the real world, there are consequences for griefing people and costing companies money by engaging in cyber crime.

So don't think this is LOL or Riot being cheap as I first did. If they can take down Wow I guarantee you it's not a matter of buy better servers or just do this and it stops. Nothing can differentiate regular traffic from DDOS until it's too late.

Yea,

You can't really do anything since the infastrucutre that all the routes are built on are old/outdated/unprotected as well as not equipped to deal with DDOS. Its on the ISP's to fix these issues, but since they all use the same infrastructure, everyone is waiting for the other guy to spend their money fixing it.

Large online communities/games are easy targets because they all end up to a few specific servers in the end, and their demographic has alot of online presence, so when you start DDOS the game, there is a large reaction online, (which is probably why they do it).

I hope the Feds/police catch them, and after spending some time in jail, with a criminal record for most of their lives, they will regret ever doing it for such trivial things. Special emphasis on 'trivial' because hackers like Anonymous etc. at least do shit for a worthwhile cause that people can stand behind.

They don't really have to take down the game server either if they just clog all access routes to it. Then the game company can't do anything about it except for being connected to multiple providers through different cables in the first place.
