Why isn't there a series for being demoted as well?

Once you hit 0 league points, you should be placed into a series similar to the one before you get promoted. It just makes it a little easier to know if you're about to be demoted instead of that screen that says "You've been demoted" Just my 2 cents.

There is; there is no limit to how many matches are in your demotion series except by LP and MMR. Just think of every match that isn't your promo series as one in your demo series.

Technically, there is. That's why you don't get instantly demoted once you reach 0 LP, assuming your mmr isn't completely bad.
