Kindred - Make A Decision
Every time I see a Kindred discussion, it's one of three things.
- "wtf their kit is just like x champ and y champ combined"
- "mobility and the 'hit 3 things for x to happen' is uninspired"
- "stop complaining about kindred, you guys thought x champ and y champ were overloaded and now you hate the simplicity of kindred."
I disagree with all three of these.
Kindred's kit is one of the most unique I've seen. People complain that she doesn't introduce any new mechanics, but in reality they have a few things that sets them apart from other champs.
- They're a ranged champion with the intention of going jungle.
- Their passive lets her target another champion, instead of randomly choosing one.
- Their Q is one of the more interesting mobility options I've seen recently.
- Their W makes their Q more potent, while doing extra damage. The heal is also like a stattik bloodthirster, which I quite enjoy.
- Their E is one of the most interesting "hit three times and chunk someone" that I've seen. It's a slow + max%hp physical damage chunk, which I don't think is utilized elsewhere.
- Their ultimate is a complete game-changer. It's brilliant for completely negating a wombo combo, or helping someone who deals sustained damage deal with someone who does burst damage. People complain it's like Tryndamere and Bard had ultimate babies, but all ultimates should be tools for plays/damage/safety.
- Their concept is actually amazing/beautiful/creepy/wonderful/emotional. Jesus, give Riot a +1.
TL;DR: They're simple, but unique.
