Does LeaveBuster account for "AFKs" that sit on base but don't actually disconnect?

I was just reading over the Leave Buster thread and got to wondering. I see this a lot: a player gets mad and sits on base, either by Nexus or in well, and will either spam hate or just sit there without ever disconnecting (I'm guessing bumping the character around to keep the "inactive" prompt at bay). Does anyone know if there is a system in place to detect this, besides player reporting?

This is the most common form of trolling I've seen in both Ranked and Normals - and most of the time, you really think that maybe they DCed, except the team is never told it, and they don't receive the additional stats for it, and they actually make it into the end game stats where they actually start flaming because they think it is safer there. I am not bothered when I see a person consistently trying to reconnect and failing. This, on the other hand, is way more common.

Red name means they were not connected to the game when it ended. It has nothing to do with LeaverBuster.

Not always. If you were gone most of the match it'll still show red. There are several times an AFK has connected a few minutes before the game ended, whether they were gone all game or constantly disconnect/reconnecting from other trouble, and was moving around before the game ended and their name was red. I've constantly disconnected/connected to a game when the DDoS problems were plaguing League, and at the end see my name in red.

that's not quite right, or, as Dwight Schrute would say: "FALSE!!!"

leaver buster also has an experience counter, which accounts for people hanging out in spawn, occasionally moving their champ. As far as i understand it compares experience gained with you and your teammates and over certain time periods. If you stay in spawn, you dont gain experience and therefore are caught by leaver buster. I think thats how it works!

Yep. I dropped a cup of water after I had died and moved to clean it up, I sat at base for 35 seconds (I looked at the clock before and after because I take AFKs seriously) and was made to type "I Accept" after the match concerning the consequences of AFKs

35 secs? no way! I couldn't log in for more that 10 minutes once (client gave me the good old "cant connect to server" message for about 10 login tries) and still didnt get the flag!

I was told you only received it once for the life of your account as a freebie warning, are you sure you didn't receive the message and typed "I Accept" in the past? I wrote a support ticket about the event I'm talking about and there was a whole ordeal about the ticket system just being a set of pre-recorded and repeated messages before an actual Riot admin came and told me how they understood the system worked.. He couldn't give me exact timers, but it detects inactivity period, whether just sitting at base and not being productive like buying items at the shop, or disconnecting.

And hey, maybe the system isn't perfect and it glitched instead of flagging you. Maybe next time :)

very sure i didnt receive it. I made a post about it once stating that if that stupid "i accept" thing wasn't reworded, i would not click it! I still stand for that! i am not going to become a liar, just because their system fucks up, my ISP fails or a real life emergency hits!

Keep fighting the good fight I guess. It basically just states that you understand AFKs ruin the game for other players, that you can't just leave on a whim because you feel like it. It triggers because of inactivity/AFK, but it doesn't actually state you intentionally left. You already understand that AFKs ruin the game, so typing in "I Accept" doesn't make you admit anything. It's just to encompass all reasons the event could have been triggered, because the system can't determine whether you did it intentionally or not.

It's a warning, it doesn't flag your account or punish you.

If you don't gain experience for a certain length of time(nobody knows the exact, and some claim it's as low as 1-2 minutes) after minions spawn, you get a flag on your record.

If they're not getting exp for long enough, they'll probably get 'flagged', but their name won't show up red.

Yes it does. How it does it, no one outside of Riot actually knows (they don't want people trying to find ways around this) but apparantly they can detect more subtle things than that.
