The decline of allchat in League....

I've been feeling this more and more since I started playing league (season 4).

Basically, at some point the middle schoolers laid eggs, and they all hatched, and now the general quality of chat and the things people say have gone down immensely.

I feel the playerbase has significantly dumbed down.

Gone are the witty comments, banter, and randomness, chill conversation, etc.

In are a few very tired and cliche conversation arcs:

1. Ha you suck nice flash, nice q whatever. Noob get rekt derp owned har ur gay.

2. Allchat snitching about "x" teammate who sucks. "wow this jungle this top this mid report this jungle support"

3. People trying to call attention to themselves / their plays. For example a yi will go "yi op!"

I feel like people don't even praise good play by teammates anymore. It's like they are trying to start their own cult of idol worship based on their own play. It's like every game is a desperate instagram/selfie trying to get likes. Look at me! I'm "op".

On another hand, the competitiveness even in norms has been taken to a whole other level. Not competitive as in quality of play, competitive as in only winning matters and only score matters.

Your teammate could be the worst ahole homophobic, racist idiot ever, but if he's doing well, the enemy team will go. "Youre talking crap about him he is CARRYING you".

As is that is the supreme judge of someone....even in a short term in game sense. I've been trolled by instalock junglers who follow me around and smite my camps, but since they have a better score than me, I am the bad guy, not them.

People always threaten reports for idiotic things but never actually report the people who deserve it.

"Stole my gromp! Reported!" "Sup sucks. Reported."

Meh. Maybe I am just overexaggerating, or maybe it is because I am bronze. I have a suspicion that maturity might be a little higher in higher ELOs, but who knows?
