Why do we not sexualize male champions?

Hi.

I know this has probably been asked or posted or whatever in the boards, but why do we not sexualize male champions? I get that a lot of the LoL playerbase are heterosexual males and would rather not see an almost naked Garen with only a leaf covering his privates in comparison to an almost naked Zyra with only leaves covering her privates, and that Riot would make more money off of skins that are geared towards the fanservice of the general playerbase of LoL --which is, as I've stated, heterosexual males-- so it'd be more financially secure to release champions and/or skins that befit these factors, but (ohmygod this is such a long sentence) why not sexualize male champions and/or skins as well?

Granted, there won't be a lot of profit by making such champions and/or skins, but wouldn't it be better for Riot, as a company, to satisfy not only the majority of its players, but the minority as well? Maybe a champion or two, or maybe a skin, too! It doesn't have to be fancy and glittery like Lux; it could be a 750 RP skin.

The point is not about "oh my god, girls and gays don't get fanservice we need more heartskerresd variss pelase," but rather, a gesture that's equivocal to the phrase, "hey, girls and gays (and some straight guys if that's your thing, we don't judge), this is Riot here and we acknowledge your existence and present you this half naked, unarmored, really hot Taric (he's more beautiful with his pink armor, though) for 750 RP!"

For clarification purposes, this is neither a complaint nor a queue queue, but rather, a mere question as to why we have an apparently insurmountable disparity between sexualized female champions/skins and sexualized male champions/skins.

She has that metal bra covering her boob (for some reason it's gold in game) and it's purple just like the rest of her outfit.

I mean I do see that slight sliver of skin on the side.. but man that's really grabbing at straws there.

Not just their splashes, but also their other skins. Moreover, being sexualized does not always mean showing skin. It could be a really, really, REALLY perfect curve or D-Cups. And come on, man. Ahri? Not sexualized? Really?

People looking good doesn't mean they are sexualized. If they don't show any more than normal, there is nothing sexualized about it.

And yes, Ahri isn't sexualized. She's just a gumiho in a miko-ish getup that does not reveal much

Ahri is very sexualized. Not just in her art but her champion kit. Friggen...she kisses and 'charms' other champions towards her. If that doesn't scream sex idk what does.

So, if having boobs makes them sexualized, what about all the buff men that real men will never become? What about Jayce with that skin, that's basically the same thing as a woman looking good? Your list is also missing quite a lot if "looking good" is what qualifies.

You don't have to look for sexualisation when it is very plainly set out. Or should I not grab the fork in front of me when at the dinner table? Its there, its meant to be there, and everyone knows it. Some of the champs are borderline pornstars lmao. Its the whole "fantasy armor deal" that is so controversal. Everyone wants tits, but hey armor doesnt work that way does it? It doesnt, so people created outfits that are aerodynamic and way too revealing. Like does half the boob really enhance the champions movement speed? Ah, who knows, maybe it does. Nox is only talking about what she sees is there, and questioning it.

I dont really care weather they do or dont sexualize champs(male or female)...but Riot over does it and it ruins champs/skins...like dragonslayer Vayne like who the heck is gonna go fight dragons with their whole stomach exposed

but some champs should be sexualized like heartseeker/pool party(to some extent) skins, Ahri(like her lore is built around be seductive so it fits), or head mistress Fiora

also Leona ?... ya man look at dat armor...Fiora too? Braum -ish?...have you seen dem pecks :P

I mean, yes, Riot is a company, after all, so I guess spending resources on things that won't help recover the revenue spent is frowned upon.

Honestly, it's more of an appreciation campaign rather than a profit agenda, but I guess they'd rather have profit agendas than to show appreciation to their players, such as, as you've stated, showing skin preferences over fixing in-game bugs and problems.

I wouldn't even say the list of sexualized guys is that long. I agree with Varus, but that's about it. Someone brought up a really good point in another thread talking about how anytime a male champion is shirtless or something, it's not for sex appeal, it's a power fantasy. Like look at Braum and Lee Sin who are shirtless in their default skins. It's not about sex, it about "LOOK HOW BUFF AND STRONG I AM."

I would like more sexy guys, but I really doubt that would happen.

Well, it depends on how Riot takes on sexualization of men as a whole. Ezreal almost naked will not say "LOOK HOW BUFF AND STRONG I AM," and neither would Braum and Lee Sin's skin say, "Hey, babe, my parents aren't home ;)"

But yes, you're right, it probably won't happen, though there's naught wrong with a question.

Because men react well to sexualized women than women react to sexualized men.

Also because men generally don't do a good job of drawing sexualized men, and I think a large part of Riot's art team are male.(not all, but last I heard men were still the majority there, although this could have changed).

Finally... because there are more ways to sexualize women than there are to sexualize men.

Edit: And I liked that you included Ezreal as a woman, but she's hardly sexualized.

Not necessarily true. Women react to sexualized men just as much as men do, but it's a matter of taste, since women can be picky. If you sexualize Draven, some women would say, "ooooh, brunette, me gusta," but other can also say, "ehh, I prefer blondes." Men, on the other hand, (and I apologize in advance for generalizing) would just be like, "woAH BRUH DID YOU SEE THAT NAMI HOLY SHIT I GOT TSUNAMI IN MY PANTS."

On your second point, though, I must agree with you. I've had art major friends who could not draw a man with correct proportions for the life of them, or if they could, it was subpar to what they could draw otherwise.

Thirdly, yes, you're right, but men are easier to sexualize. Give him abs, give him a goatee, give him a killer smile, and boom. There will be tsunami in women's pants.

I honestly just want to say that until riot does a better job of making the community more accepting and less simple minded and (toxic) we won't ahve things like this.

riot Doesn't appeal to everyone. period...Their community is mean...their rules are member oriented, and you're rarely rewarded when you show promise.

So until they start to appeal to everyone (start to change their tribunal to a non-tolerant system that doesn't allow anyone to be harassing others and trying to belittle others and what not.) we won't have minority targeted propaganda.

The Majority are jerk males who are competitive. We're not an accepting bunch. Which is unfortunate (I am accepting I'm jsut speaking for the majority)

I agree with your idea although I do find it a bit odd that you would come up with a comparison such as this but it makes perfect sense, I jsut never thought about the difference of sexualization in this game....fyi I'm a girl. so....
