I actually like Varus' new lore.

I'm not going to be poignant and mawkish about how his old lore resonated with me. I read it, and I liked the old lore. It made Varus complex, and showed how his choices affected him greatly. The new lore is new. It gives Varus a different personality, a different motto. He's got a new drive.

I don't understand why people cling to past lore/bios/abilities for nostalgia's sake. This game changes. Every patch it changes. Accept it.

I like Karma. I liked the old Karma. Now this Karma doesn't have fans. Oh. Frickin. Well. I still love the champion, her abilities, her voice lines. I am loyal to the champion even after they took away her defining characteristic of balance, push and pull, yin and yang, damage and heal. I LOVE Fiora. I loved Fiora's old abilities. I liked how she was easily countered, but dealt a lot of damage once she was ahead. I like how her matchups are very specific. Now, this new Fiora deals damage. Now this Fiora doesn't have invul. Oh. Frickin. Well. I'm loyal to this champ and I love this champ to the death. (heh).

I understand that people read lore and feel connected to a champion because of their lore, because of their bio and voice lines and whatnot. I completely understand that. I also agree that creating a different "thing" for "someone" that is absurdly anathema to what makes them "them" is absurd. It's just ridiculous how people feel so nostalgic about stuff in the past that is BOUND to change, because, you know, progress is progress.

It's good to value and respect tradition, but don't fear change. I know a lot of people like lore. I like lore. I read Camille's short and I fell in love with her. If they decide to change her, or any aspect that makes Camille Camille, I'll probably still like her. Because when I'm playing a game with her, or with Fiora or with Karma, I'm not thinking about their lores. I'm not thinking about how Karma doesn't have Heavenly Wave anymore. I'm thinking about how to win the game.

In Varus' case, I don't really care about his wife, his kid, his now-two gay lovers in him (I'm sure I worded this wrong). I care about whether or not I should buy Rageblade for funsies (I play ARAM). I care about which to max first, e or w. To me, nothing has changed. Varus will still be this poorly dressed guy who knows how to make things dead and deader even so.

This is just my two cents. Thank you for taking the time to read!

Have a great day, guys (:
