At least some of it... and i actually do wonder, WHY do we not have any ownership at all over our account? besides getting banned then wanting all our money back? I saw in there that lawyers say "no!"??
i read all the comments before and they are pretty funny. Any game where you must connect to a server you will never have ownership owner this is a legal thing for when they want to shut servers down because you could sue them for refusing you access. By agreeing that you are renting and do not have ownership they are by passing this. Think of it like this you can buy an old as fuck school game for like a gameboy advanced. you own that game and you can play it... for... well... ever since no servers are needed.
Because there isn't a subscription fee, it's technically Riot's game that they are letting everyone play for free. Paying for cosmetic items doesn't count because they're not necessary to play the game.

I'd assume part of it is that they want to retain ownership for when the game eventually closes..
Nothing lasts forever and if people owned their accounts, it would likely be a mess when the company shuts down.
