A friend shared a link with me that looked sketchy as all it asked to get a $50 rp card was to have 13 people view the page. They claim they get the support from riot and after you get the 13 views you have to do a survey, so I am pretty sure it is high on sketchy. But for future note: does Riot ever do offers like that?
Riot does a Refer a Friend system, where new players can tell Riot that you suggested that they join. I believe there are RP rewards for that if you get enough (I think they're also re-working the system).
But no, other than that Riot doesn't really give away RP. They take away RP, skins, champs, etc. that are gained via other means.
There is a bunch of services that will reward you with prepaid credit cards/gift cards in exchange for doing a bunch of surveys. I don't know the name of a reputable one off the top of my head but I'm sure you could find one with some googling.
A lot of companies / researchers will pay to have their surveys completed so it's pretty common, just try and find reputable ones so you don't waste your time. I'm sure there's lots of scammers out there.
No, it's more like Survey Company X will make money off of you completing surveys, and when you do a certain amount they'll compensate you by buying you whatever kind of gift card you want.
In other words it doesn't need to be riot approved, just do a google search for reputable survey companies or something.
