Carry tips in Soloqueue from a Plat Player
Hey guys I was just thinking about best soloqueue champs and strategies and figured I would share these with you (I posted them somewhere else first but I thought these could be at least a little helpful to you all). I'll post this and if you guys want more then I'd be happy to either post more or just answer question in the comments (only if you guys want I don't want to put a ton of time in if no one is interested). I'm going to do a ctrl+F log right here since this is long here are the things to enter: Top lane- Mid- Jungle- ADC- Support- So just a few things. First, as far as champs and roles go pretty much anything but support is good AT LOWER ELO'S KEEP IN MIND (this is coming from a support main). Support just doesn't have the carry power, it relies on your team mates getting fed and carrying you which doesn't work to well at low elo's.
Top Lane- Top lane should be picking hyperscaling 1v1 champs (irelia, jax, nasus, tryn etc) so that they can farm up then come into team fights really strong. Bronze and silver games tend to be long since map pressure is pretty low at those elo's so late game champs are good.
Mid- Mid, same thing, I would say assassins in the mid that snowball hard are best. Also mids with pushing power. So stuff like Zed (snowballs hard, splitpushes like a god, 1v1 master), katarina (can single handedly pentakill when fed), talon (probably hardest snowballer in the game, at least one of them. Great AoE and single target) are very strong.
Jungle- Junglers that have damage and scale well are good. Since he is pretty notorious I'll mention him: Lee sin actually isn't great at low elo's and I would never recommend him outside of VERY high elo (diamond +). He is simply to mechanically challenging and not rewarding enough for using him wrong. Tanks are super good right now though so top junglers are probably sejuani (great late game damage and tank) Amumu (same) and nidalee because her map roaming abilities and high poke. The jungle meta is actually really open right now but, I would advise picking at least bruisers but you can also pick assassins and do really well. Somes good examples might be rengar since he can either be a decent bruiser or a burst champ and Rek'Sai is for similar reasons.
ADC- The best ADC's are probably sivir (she doesn't need any peel or help from her team and provides great utility), graves because he is tanky, has a great lane, and lots of burst, then I would say lucian because of his lane bully and his ability to dodge damage with his E since most champions are skill shot based, but the adc meta is fairly open, even quinn isn't bad, as long as your not picking troll stuff (teemo I'm looking at you).
Support- Support, if you must, you wanna play leona for her damage and CC and if you can't get her I personally think alistair and blitz are good back up. Janna is OK too but she doesn't have much damage. Alistair has counter play and can be poked but he is a beast when fed and his ult is rediculous. We all know about blitz, hookcity etc. Other supports are ok, I love bard and thresh personally (yes bard don't hate me) but those are just the best at lower elo's because they can do well without to much team assistance. These are just what I've discovered are great in soloqueue. Not necessarily accurate or 100% true but this is my opinion. I can post more such as great strategies, concepts, mechanics to learn and more but I don't want to unless people are interested in this. I hope this is helpful!
is the most difficult for low ELO players to deal with. If a competent player gets his hands on her he will win lane easy because of her incredible range. Plus she has a nice escape and is less reliant on her support to do well unlike most shorter ranged marksmen.
