The changing of league began.

A repost to a thread that I replied that I think people should read and understand from a veterans perspective. What it feels like to play this game for so long and watch it all crumble because riot tried to be the best company but because they listened to those they loved. Their views became warped. they let their playerbase balance the game by trying to be a "yes man" and in turn it has been the scourge of champion diversity since season 2 era. Now read and try to pick up whats most important in this long post. Ignore the vulgarity, it is not directed at any of you beautiful people or riot. It is directed at the sadness it brings me to see such a beautiful game have since amazing diversity in season 1/season 2 in terms of just champion picks in general and feeling like "oh well if I play karthus jungle! that'd be fun!" .. you can ofc still do all this but the problem is it's not possible to make it work in ranked under most conditions because of new kits pushing out old. Now read and try to Understand.

Dear playerbase,

No one likes s5 jungle. We just like the s5 jungle items so we grin and bite the bullet. It's only gotten worse over the years. Riot has gutted the jungle rewards for us every year. season 1/2 were the high point of junglers. Diversity for every type of jungle. Above average clear speed. Gankers Farmers. AP junglers AP bruisers Mage junglers. Assassins. Then riot made season 3 items and all that went away and now we're stuck with assassin or tank junglers. Nothing else is really played because its not good enough. Not even meta would support a karthus jungle or a fiddle jungle that much anymore simply because the game has evolved to support only tank/assassin junglers.

So has riots design. It has crowded and bottlenecked the diversity. Riot Knows nothing of game design. In the long run they have bottlenecked their game with broken champions and nerfs to everything they "thought" needed changing at the time.

And this is twofold because the community wanted change but then didn't want change so riot makes changes then is surprised when its not enough so they keep changing for the sake of change. In turn the change has altered the game and there is no return from whence we came. We push forward and shape the game from here. We are reaping what we sowed so long ago. And like it or not, we will continue to reap what we sowed. We can make the best of a bad situation and go for the lesser of 2 evils by trying to make more diversity as riot has stated but the fact is trying isn't going to do anything until the timers are at 30-45 second spawn times for the farmers to be viable and then doing moderate damage so the weaker clearing champions don't get destroyed by having hardly any percentage damage /single target or none at all and high cooldowns/mana costs.

The problem at this point is there are so many broken tanks/assassins in the game that saturate the jungle that making the jungle weak only buffs these champions to have even more godly clear and even more gold when they pick up kills.

The champion design has become "percentage damage- gap closers- hard cc- some other useful utility/aoe damage spell/point and click/auto reset" And champions without this design fall between the cracks in the design. Riot has been trying to make good champions but the problem started way back around the time ahri released. With champions like ahri who just have godly scaling and base stats from the get go. So balancing them will never be possible because you either gut their stats and make them feel like shit as an assassin/tank or you gut their utility and make them feel like shit in a teamfight when they're easily picked off by the next great champion with above posted "typical kit"

It is a vicious cycle and the dogs eating the lesser dogs only has become worse and worse with more and more champions having the same type of kit design.

Sincerely, Jungle, the jungler since closed beta/season 1

PS: it honestly makes me cry thinking of how beautiful the game tried to be but in the end will we ever be that amazing star that lasts for 10+ years and just shows the world that gamers are cool too and everyone can be happy and we'll get noticed on ESPN and not be called worthless nerds? I love you riot, I hope you succeed in everything you do, you try so hard and it means so much to me over the years.

edit: honestly I can't keep editing this at this point without just getting upset, I really hope riot can last for a long time. They're such a beautiful company. I remember fondly in season 1/2 meeting phreak and meeting the major devs ryze and all them even morello. They probably don't remember me because it was the only time I ever visited riot. My name is Tory and I'm a vet from s1 who was like every other teenager in gaming history... A bit hot headed and theres no way for me to hop on my original league accounts and prove I'm a closed beta vet because those accounts got perm banned for me being a jerk to my beautiful community that I love so much while playing a game that I love so much. I learned from my mistakes and have become a diamond player on multiple servers worldwide and have loved the game for years but I've never really posted a real thread on the forums that actually was truely meaningful like this one.

And I'm sorry if this is really long and rambling but I've thought about posting for awhile about what I thought and just was... idk I just wanted to post and here it is. Probably looks terrible, I'm sorry... I write what I think, I don't really edit it much.

PSS: those that wonder about my name, I once dated a girl who was mute. It was a long time ago.
