Zilean and his Giant, Broken Clock
Zilean's a great champ, I love him for his unique skill set and utility, plus the taunt bm is always a must. I think we can all agree however that his gameplay and capabilities can become a little binary once you get good enough at playing him. Though I couldn't find anything with a quick google search I'm certain Rito has said in the past that they wanted to do some more work on Zilean after his mini update a while back.
These are just ideas I had and feedback/more thoughts are encouraged, but I had a few ideas a while back that might add diversity to his gameplay when he eventually get's the VGU he deserves. What if we do something with the giant clock on his back? Poor old guy carries that thing around with him everywhere and according to his new lore it doesn't have any discernible purpose. Does it hold his time bombs? Maybe, but why not do more with it? Why not turn this... http://www.newgamernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Zilean_0.jpg

New Passive (that maybe includes the old one?):
Zilean's passive could become connected to his weird but cool looking magical clock backpack, the spinning hands interacting with his basic abilities. To add counterplay the clock could be displayed at Zilean's feet in some kind of magic time aura, or to put power in sheer unpredictability it could be added to the player's HUD somehow. This alone isn't really a passive, so he might keep his experience passive since that's kinda cool.
QQ:
Imagine all the fun things we could do if Zilean's Q was hooked up to a spinner of some sort that somehow altered the ability. He's got a giant spinner on his back, and I've convinced myself it's where his time bombs come from now so why not? Each minute on the clock does something different, be it changing how the bomb acts once landed, maybe what it does if you land two on the same target, maybe how it deals damage? There's so many option here! That's not the best part either though- an easy to use and predictable spinner can be boring, so why not give the player some control over it?
W:
Real simple, using it rewinds your clock spinner back to add a bit of randomness and even skill expression to your q's. Jerk time backwards so you can throw an unexpected type of q out. This ability will also remove a stack of Zilean's e if it was used within 10 seconds, which we'll get to.
E interacts with the passive too :
So how do we make Zilean's e, an already fun and useful tool, even better? By giving it drawbacks so that it's fun stuff can be cranked up to 11 :D. Basically my idea for it was that by using E, you either slow down or speed up the clock on your back. Using E on allies or yourself speeds up the clock, and you gain passive bonus movespeed that stacks with each successive boost up to a cap. This also makes the spinner move faster, making it harder to throw your Q out with the desired effect. Using E on enemies will consume E stacks, slowing the clock's spinner but also lowering MS.
R:
I like it how it is and can't think of any reason to add anything to it.
These are all just concepts but by adding some variability and new strengths/weaknesses I think Zilean could be a much more interesting champion to learn. I aimed to keep his kit mostly intact but tell me what you think [slayer-jinx-wink]
