Silver in the Pre-Season.

So, I just hit Silver V after egregiously dragging my sorry ass out of Bronze ( where I was placed due to a HUGE loss streak in placements at the beginning of Season 4 ) and I was wondering...

Since I had to progressively bring myself up to Silver, and since I am a fairly decent player ( if I do say so myself, about 48~49% win rate in ranked (( due to progressive skill increase )) ) does that mean I can stay in Silver having now played over 10 matches in the pre-season with more on the way? Or will the system automatically bring me back down to Bronze I just because I played a lot more matches in Bronze? Systematically speaking, can I just work my way up Silver to maintain a spot in the Silver league?

I've been playing the game for many years and I have participated in every season since the start, but I've never been very serious- my highest position achieved was Silver I in Season 3.

Can anyone give me some feedback? You don't have to be a Rioter, guys, I appreciate the community feedback just as much-- that said, don't be shy!

essentially you only need to get your MMR up so in the placement matches you will be paired with people around that MMR (Silver 5=Silver 5 MMR) If you do good in your placements you will probably be B1-S4 (If your bronze you will have higher MMR so you wont be playing with people in Bronze 1 although its possible.)
