can we have riot remove the report of being an "unskilled" player because i think its downright stupid for riot to look at a report for being unskilled because what if you were just having a bad day or something pissed you off enough to make you play worse than normal, basically i just want riot to remove the unskilled player report and it won't be for only me it'll be for everyone
Sarutobi4 votesits a bait report for people who just randomly reports people. it has no actual meaning and doesnt count towards a report since Riot believes people will have bad games, and reporting someone for "unskilled" makes zero sense.

So that when people do use it, and use it often there reports count for nothing since its obvious they are abusing that type of report! its a good way to help sort out people who just like to report for no reason at all!

It's one of the two that he's indicated will be removed when they go through and rework the report options. The other is "Refusing to Communicate," since that option is also not punishable.

We're actually in the process of re-designing some of the report categories because some of them overlap and some of them simply aren't meaningful in the modern version of the game. In the old days, the "unpunishable" reports were used strictly for research purposes and analytics. For example, when a player receives too many Unskilled Player reports it helped us analyze the matchmaker to determine how the system put that player in that position.

Thanks for this. So it's safe to say that they may still be doing that today and it might actually do something. Also Mr. Lyte needs to go back to school as he is speaking in the present and past in the same sentence. Shame on him. This guy created this system yet he can't use proper grammar, lol. Well at least we know why the system is so bad.
I hope this still works though because it could be an excellent way to keep horribles out of your que.

For example, when a player receives too many Unskilled Player reports it helped us analyze the matchmaker to determine how the system put that player in that position.

Yes, he should have typed "received." But that's not the reference I was making. Rather, I was pointing out that - due to your own grammatical errors - you didn't have a huge amount of room to judge that small (if very meaningful) typo.
Of course, I was also trying to do so without being quite so blunt about it, because I didn't want to come off like a jerk. Thus the reference.

Yatsufuså2 votesThat criteria is the only reportable option that doesn't punish you. I am unsure if it even actually matches you with different players to be honest. I think it's just there for people to blow off steam. (don't take this as truth, it might have a function, but I know it doesn't penalize you.)
Liquefier2 votesthis report button, when used to report someone at a low level will adjust their matchmaking if used enough. For Example. Someone who played tower defense on their phone thinks they are a pro and sets their difficulty to Veteran, but has no concept of how to play a MOBA. They get reported for unskilled enough it will start placing them with new players rather than smurfs.

Lugg2 votesIf someone goes 0/10 when they are a hard counter to the opponent, they probably don't need to be at that MMR level. The unskilled button allows the ranking system to move someone down if they get enough reports on this. It's actually a good thing since that player will be placed in a more appropriate level where they have a chance to succeed.

OhBoyItsaMegaman1 votesThere are a lot of replies stating that the Unskilled Player report adjusts the reported player's MMR. This was the case years ago, when Riot was less confident in their matchmaking algorithm. It has had no effect whatsoever for a long time.
