I dont have the IP to buy her and try her myself and I havnt really had the time to play games recently so im wondering what the community thinks of Rek currently. From what have read so far people seem to really enjoy her and that she is pretty balanced right now. Please post thoughts
I think she's in a good place. I kinda feel like her burrowed q should have a lower AP ration just to dissuade people from building AP Rek. (I relaly hate the build, as someone who has basically become a Rek main. I feel like it heavily underutilizes her kit and is really gimicky).
She's balanced, but her playstyle is entirely different, as the majority of her effectiveness comes from smart tunnel use and clever management. She's a strong early game duelist, especially with Chilling Smite and clever use of her tunnels to make sure that people don't escape, but falls off into mostly an objective controller in the late game. Unless you try to build pure damage Rek. In which case I laugh as you explode before you can really get much accomplished. (I've never seen a full damage build work on her at all; the only time I've lost to another Rek'sai, she followed the EXACT same build tree as me, which is chilling smite/warrior enchant+Hydra+Randuin's. She had picked up a dagger after that, where I would have went SV, but they were winning pretty hard so I can see where she would potentially want to stay a threat).
Remember, when playing against her: She benefits from fighitng amongst minions. Her Q and the aoe from Hydra will stack her fury up REALLY fast, which gets her to that true damage E quicker. Her tunnels are always a set distance, so you can juke backwards and dodge her that way (Because those are a very long cd). Don't try to vision juke her. Standing still can be used to set up ambushes for her.
She has a ton of counterplay. I love playing her; she's very effective if used well, but she isn't anywhere near broken. Minor tweaks? Yeah, I could see it. But I think she's mostly in a good place.
