So it's all my fault then?

Warning: This is more of me ranting to get my frustration out So I played a game as Sona support and early on it was going well, mid picks up first blood we get some towers. Then come mid game the enemy team starts to group and they consist of Kat, Noc, Udyr, Bard, and Quinn. Our team is Cho, Vi, Yas, Luc, and Me. The enemy team is clearing out vision so I am having a hard time keeping up and most of my team is buying occasional pinks but not green wards to help spread vision. I am running around trying get vision. When I am in lane Kat and Noc come in and kill me and Luc before we can react. Then Vi starts to just get on me about vision control and I tell her I am trying. I try to go ward baron but the place is covered in pink wards and I get anihilated by Kat and Noc. Vi meanwhile is just saying "Sona plz" When she wants me to ward and then when I die trying to do that she is getting pissy bout it. Also, Vi is diving solo into their back line and dies like 5 times and nobody cares, yet if I die warding objectives its a really big deal. Then at the end of the game when they are killing our Nexus Vi just types in "GG Sona Best Support" So I guess cause I am support I am held to this ungodly standard to where if I slip up in the tiniest way everything to blame is put on me. Meanwhile we got a jungler who flashes into drag pit to fail at stealing and dies and diving solo into the back line and dies. I love logic in this game Sry for Rant, Vi just really made me mad with blaming everything on me

Not at all!

Blame is put on you regardless of who slips up.

...Seriously though, a lot of teams just fall apart in the midgame and don't know where to go or what to do, and nobody contributes to vision. As far as I can tell, the best thing you can do at that point is:

Find one person on your team who is doing well and knows what they are doing. (If there isn't even one, then it's REALLY hopeless.) In the laning phase you need to support the ADC, but after that you can support anyone.

Follow that person around and make plays for/with them.

Try to have some vision around wherever you are. One person can't ward the whole map, but at least you can help one teammate not get jumped. Because you have one good person with you, you're less likely to get jumped on and killed.

If you can get that person to go with you to important objectives, great, if not, it's better to lose dragon than to die and lose dragon.

Specifically as Sona, if you're suddenly in a bad spot, don't be afraid to ult someone in the face and run. It's better to have no ult than to die.

This is a problem where people assume the only person that should be warding is support. Im sure Vi knew the enemy team was taking out your wards and she just assumed you would be able to put them back with ease instead of having everyone help. Pinks are great if you place them in very well hidden areas, but even then once its found its basically gone. Green Wards help and the people on your team should have been getting those since you can place more than one! Honestly just dont let them get to you. Vi is just one of those high and mighty players and i doubt (assuming its rank) they wont climb that far with that type of mentality!

Get your teammate to go with you when you ward.

Consider putting a point in the mastery that let's you place your wards from further away.

Common Solo Queue Occurrences...

  • Laner blames jungler because they lost lane.
  • Jungler blames laner because the jungler died attempting to steal some camp.
  • Wards don't exist.
  • ADC misses last hit and blames the Support.
  • Support doesn't by Sightstone.
  • Someone rage quits.
  • Someone opens a boot shot.
  • Someone is trying to copy the LCS.
  • "Diamond Smurf"
  • Someone rages in champion select because of an off meta pick.

And the list goes on.

I did not read the thread but usually the answer is: There are games you just cannot win Period.

Just get over and move on to another game, with a fresh mindset. If it helps, go take a walk or take a shower

You shouldn't ever blame your team for what YOU did wrong though, so if you, say, lost a teamfight because you weren't accounting for your ADC's retarded positioning, have that in mind in the next teamfight/game
