Is it possible to clear the jungle effectively without any runes at all?

Going over to a friends house tommorow and thinking of teaching him how to jungle. But since he doesn't have a single rune purchased, I need to know if its safe to do so. If they are needed I'll just tell him to pick a fast clearing tank or someone with good jungle sustain.

Certain junglers can some can't. Really depends but honestly no.

Fiddlesticks can do it easily without runes.

ww and fiddle are the two junglers that its easiest to do on, udyr can do it as well but its a bit harder coincidentally they are all low price

Just did several test runs of a 0 rune clear. And had luck with Aatrox and Xin, his 2 favorites so i'll just have him use those 2.
