But it seems the only way im getting out of bronze an silver is to master some broken champs for s5 so anyone mind listing me off some for each lane?

Wukong mid is the destroyer of worlds.

You don't really need to play broken champions; you should play champions who you can carry the game with.

This typically means that you want champions who:

  • You like to play or are comfortable with
  • Are relatively influential early and mid-game or have a strong mid and late game
  • Are able to set up plays for their team

I see a lot of players who think they have to pick a snowbally damage-dealer if they want to climb, but I'm not really sure how well that works. Many of those champions can be strong when ahead, but they provide little when behind and don't fit into a lot of team compositions, especially when multiple people chose them on one team. i.e. A team with Master Yi Jungle, Katarina Mid, Riven Top, and Vayne ADC is going to have issues with hard CC and tanks in teamfights if they don't snowball.

Personally, I played champions who were strong at teamfighting and provided good utility for my team, who I enjoyed playing, and whose matchups I had experience with. In addition, I generally avoided champions who could be countered in lane (at least when I didn't know the matchup) or who were useless when behind or not fed.

Proper initiation and CC seem to be undervalued at lower levels of play, but they are vital for most team compositions. They can completely change the course of teamfights or even threaten enemies away from objectives due to the possibility of their use.

My main champions when climbing were:

  • ADC: Varus provides good poke, damage, and teamfighting. He isn't picked or banned often, so he was generally open for me to pick. If necessary, I had Corki KogMaw Graves as backups.

  • Mid: Ziggs provides strong waveclear/sieging, AoE damage, utility (knockback, slow), and his ultimate (which can easily be used to help in a fight top or bot lane). In addition, his range and W made him relatively safe in lane and lets him play well against Zed (who was popular at the time). As backup picks, I had Karthus (global ult, dragon/baron control, high DPS, wall) and MonkeyKing (strong against squishy targets, strong roaming and teamfighting with his ultimate).

  • Top: Nasus provides high damage, Wither can cripple the enemy ADC's damage output or let his team chase down a target, and strong splitpushing. Many players don't actually know how to handle him and he requires some competency/coordination to shut down, so if you play it well you can dominate even poor matchups and take advantage of poor opponents. I had Irelia (strong dueling, could assassinate enemy carries), Maokai (powerful CC and damage reduction, strong laning) as backups.

  • Jungle: Gragas provided strong initiation, disruption, damage, and durability for his team. Righteous Glory made it very easy for Gragas to charge at his opponents and use his ultimate to knock enemies into his team and he has strong ganks early-game. I had Nautilus (massive CC, peel, and initiation), Zac, Amumu, Fiddlesticks, and RekSai as backups.

  • Support: I didn't actually play support much in ranked since I was usually able to get one of my other roles. However, I made sure that I knew how to play Taric Braum Thresh and Leona competently enough to fill the role.

Looking at your account on na.op.gg, you appear to have played many champions in ranked very few times. I'd suggest narrowing down your champion pool to champions whose limits and match-ups you know. You'll be more experienced with them and know how to play and/or build depending on the situation in-game.

I would also suggest looking more into how the champions you play are typically built and try to understand why. Some of your builds are questionable in their effectiveness.

As a side note, I would recommend working on your rune pages. They aren't horrible, but they could be improved.

i.e. Use Scaling Health Seals and MR Glyphs instead of Flat AP on your AP Page for additional survivability. AP Seals really aren't slot-efficient and they don't provide any significant damage overall.

Also, if you want people to be notified that you responded to them, you have to actually reply to their post. Otherwise, they won't know unless they look at the thread and search for your posts.

there is no power or broken champion that can outway the trash that is the ranked system.

a d5 once told me the key to climbing to plat is maining wukong mid. because he's easy to play, counters most mid laners, and has a bunch of AOE. that's what he said lol.

you can get out of those elo's playing lich bane zed if you are good enough anything works because they are not the best players "by far" you just need to play easy champs so you are "better" than they are. Play annie and kayle freel0

ill givee it a go when i can then is wu jungle still viable ad what about nunu support still good?

FHMarshy6/25/2015, 8:14:13 PM1 votes

That is not 100% true. Yes you need to master one champion, but you don't need it to be broken in s5 to get out of bronze.

Ouroborous HD6/25/2015, 7:56:13 PM1 votes

any champion cuz its bronze. well except bard. get the core parts of the game down and every champion is overpowered in bronze.

DaTrout776/25/2015, 11:11:03 PM1 votes

I firmly dont believe that thier are any overpowered champs beside perhaps the new champs in which they are being tweaked into position. Any champ can be strong in the right situation. I have gotten owned by just about every champ out there just off of the sitiuations and that players skill. If u look at the champs as being over powered ur opening the thought in ur head that they only beat u because they playing "EZ Champs" while its true that some champs are easier to learn than others but with the harder champs u get alot more benefits such as outplay potential for example Zed has one of the higher learning curves but he can still be owned by someone that has a higher learning curve and in my opinion a higher outplay potenial Leblanc but if the LB player cant make those outplays then a decent zed player can stomp her therefore its a skill match up. Bard in my opinion is bad right now only because he has a high skill cap. i have seen games won and lost on this champ alone it all depends on the players mechanics and thought process.

I can play just about anyone but i guess i just eed to pick out the over powered ones :|
