why do people play nasus?

i can not stand seeing this champion on my team he never helps until its way to late for anything to be done (even when he has like 500 stacks at 25 minutes) he just spends all game farming and being completely useless to your team is it like a mental thing? do you have to have as many fucking stacks as physically possible i just dont get it why must you throw games to get a few more stacks when we need you to fight with us. dont get me wrong i have been carried by a nasus or two in my time playing, but the nasi that actually help are so far and few between i feel obligated to ban the champion so no one on my team picks him because its a non stop farm fest with him

I farm, but i also know when to push, stack farm, and then when to join a team. Nasus is one of my two champions i play top lane honestly, but i mostly play mid. It just happens to be some people don't know when to do other things so they ONLY stack. it isn't the champion, it is the lack of knowledge by the player using the champion.

he is a situational pick he is good against a Sion who also have to farm to be of use

Nasus needs stacks to be helpful in teamfights, or fights in general. When he has his stacks and is fed, he's fucking monstrous. Though, the player you were with probably has a lack of map awareness.
