There is literally 100% no reason to build the new support items

These are all unnecessary at the moment. It is 100% more efficient to just get the regular upgrades and separately build sightstone. You lose the actives if you build these and it provides, what? One more ward? Just upgrade sightstone if you are in desperate need of that many wards. These need a buff.

No, you don't seem to quite get it. The sightstone and item take up one extra space that could be used for something else. Combining the two gives the passive effects and sightstone, thus being very good utility-wise. I think this was mainly for champs that have this utility, but are forced to get both anyway. Besides, they give beefier stats than usual.
