Or just add URF back in as an actual game mode. I mean COME ON RIOT. Why has this not been done? Sometimes you just need to blow some steam off in an URF game. Bring it back! Or at least give a real reason to why it isnt a regular game mode

Now, stretch that out over a few months and see how long the "fun" lasts. Also, kinda fuck you for calling for the removal of Dominion. While it isn't super popular, there is a dedicated fan base who enjoy the mode, so why should they sacrifice a mode they find fun so you can get bored with a mode that has no long term staying power?

They should give Dominion a VU, I played that mode all the time back in my early levels from 1-10~, and it was fun. Now the last time I played Dominion, I was in a PvP match as Heimerdinger... But I was the only HUMAN in the WHOLE GAME!!! Needless to say... I didn't die once, and it was a very unfun game because of the lack of challenge from the scripting. Riot... Please. Fix Dominion's current issues.
évy7 votesfeatured game modes arent permanent for a number of things: they keep the game fresh if they were permanent riot would have to balance around them which isnt fair to normal modes they are constantly working on the feartured game modes to alter it and make it "better" for us to play the next time it comes around

Once you start seeing the same 10 champs every game the popularity will greatly fall off and they will have to balance around urf specifically so it doesn't become stale. Not including tt, dominion, or aram you already see how much trouble riot has balancing summoned rift alone. It would be too hard for them to balance around urf

They should give it it's own trinket system like Dominion got.
This would give your comp options every game. Facing a poke comp? Pick up Orbs of Winter. At least one sweeper(to keep tabs on the brush). Probably a cannon trinket if you manage to push to their tower. You're the poke comp? Cannon trinket to take advantage of your ability to push to their tower.
All melee? Stack that Guardian Horn and stay in their face all game.

Featured game modes were meant to bring something fresh and new to the game for a short time, they rotate them in and out, so they can do work on them for the future. It will most likely be back next month, and again next year. You just have to live with that.

When it suddenly becomes free, most of it's value is gone. Also, some people will take it as seriously as ranked, which could be a really, REALLY bad thing. I would prefer everyone goes full damage and the fun times ensue, but some people think to build raid boss tank or kill-you-heal-all-damage builds, which makes it more irritating than fun.(in my opinion)
Basically people play or get something, for the most part, when it's released,and if it's kept many people will try to find the "pro way" to play it. When it's just there, being available, many people forget about it. It loses value, and people think to re-add that value by "finding the pro way" to win. For now, I believe URF should stay something for the April fools.
... unless Rito's improvement made it 2x better, in which case I would replace rift with URF.

Dominion is garbage right now, no denying it, but that is because it has been left in horrible disrepair by riot, not because it is a bad game mode. URF however would have an even shorter lifespan of popularity than Dominion had because it ends up feeling like normal SR after a while when you get used to it. If URF mode became a permanent thing, I would laugh in your silly little face when Riot leaves it on the wayside while balancing around SR instead of URF, just like they've done to Dominion.
URF was already stale by the time they took it down after only two weeks, and without Riot balancing around it (which you are deluded to think would happen) it probably would only be popular for that long the second time except for die-hard fans just like Dominion's die-hard fans.

Having it come once a year will make people relish it more instead of taking it for granted. It's also not like Dominion is that bad, I like playing it once in a while along with 3v3 when I'm bored of normals/ranked and aram.

Mirage Seraph1 votesThe closest thing to permanent I want URF to be is a Weekend only thing, or something similar. The fun and hilarity of the mode comes from how off it all is from regular play. But if it was something that was always here, it wouldn't have that novelty. It'd just be "Everybody is broken The Game."
Also. I like Dominion, it's fun to play from time to time. So uh. No. Let's not remove a game mode just because you don't like it.

It's actually the exact same reason Dominion isn't played anymore. Riot just doesn't really balance around it, so it gets stale and stays stale. If Riot put in a ranked mode for Dominion and actually gave it TLC even on half the scale of SR, I guarantee you it would be about 5 times as popular, and would start picking up even more attention from Riot because it would be AMAZING to have it be a real alternate game mode rather than a place to send bots. URF as a game mode is a fraction as interesting as Dominion, to be honest, because it is just suped up SR with broken champs being broken and accelerated gameplay, instead of an alternative game flow that actually has a completely different feel yet retains the core themes of LoL and MOBAs in general.
I don't play Dominion (mostly because I never get out of the matchmaking queue for ages), but If I had to choose between permanent URF and revitalizing Dominion, Dominion wins hands down.
