I Just Played Heroes Of The Storm

I'm not quite sure what people found about it that was even close to as fun/good as league and I'm saying that from an unbiased stand point. Yes, it's nice, it's new so that's something but other than that I found it really lacking in actual mechanical skill and clarity. I'm sure it has potential but I don't really see why I would ever play it over league of legends personally or even DOTA 2. I like it but I found it really tried too hard to push the 3 lanes, kill nexus concept into my face. It felt like a MOBA and not like it's own game, that I specifically disliked.

I just wanted to give my opinion.

The "team levels as one" thing is a big turnoff. On one hand, games are short. On the other hand, if your team is bad you lose automatically. It should be noted that it says there's a diminished XP bonus when you're ahead, but as far as I can tell this is lies. Also, the reconnecting is garbage.

This being said, Sylvanas is actually a fun character.

the game is more casual. They tried to hearthstone the MOBA genre and failed, but Blizzard won't admit until after a year of burning money in their marketing machine.

I find this very truthful

Less toxicity.. I mean the game hasn't been out that long and it has fixed every problem league has.. what's that say/

I enjoy it as a time killer if I am bored of league or something. I personally like Dota 2 more than League.

When I tried HotS, compared to league and Dota, it felt like I was a 3 year old smashing toys together.

Because HotS is a different game. Mainly because it's a team brawler with tons of objectives. You can't solo carry your team 100%. And HotS doesn't have items. That's the main reason why people look HotS in a weird way and see this as a "failure" or boring game to play. But it actually isn't imo. HotS teaches a lesson which even LoL players might find useful: never ever abandon your team and always be on the lookout for next important objective. Because that's how matches are won in HotS.

It puts a lot more focus into teamwork and macro strategies than it does into individual skill, as a result, solo queue feels like a weird experience where you have no agency over the outcome of the game, and being significantly more mechanically skilled is meaningless when compared to bring knowledgeable about the game. But if you make a premade team with friends over voice chat, the strategies and combinations you can pull off for each map give the game a strategic depth that goes much deeper than LoL's.

"really lacking in actual mechanical skill and clarity" "felt like a MOBA and not like it's own game"

That basically sums up blizzard for you. Their community is ridiculously polarizing (you have people on their forums who either tell you to eat sh't even if you're just saying hi to people or 100% agree with everything you say even if it is unbelievably wrong), and everything they do seems more like a WoW rip-off than it does an actual game (with my assumption being that they're thinking they can just clone the game with minor tweaks in an attempt to get more $ from their already existing community).

we dont build items there, its weird
