I lost my high school girlfriend shortly after graduation

Im married now, 7 years later. I still dream about her. It still hurts. I still think about her every day. She married someone else a while ago too. I just can't stop feeling this pain and regret because I loved her so much.

You don't miss her. You miss "what could have been". You miss the fantasy you made up in your head. She's not the same person. Plus if you really loved her, you'd never ever let her go. It wasn't meant to be and stop fooling yourself.

Past loves will always hurt, you will always remember.

Infinite Universes and Timelines. Infinite. Which means in a lot of them you stayed together. Just not in this one. I tend to find solace in that thought.

Dang. I hope you feel better, maybe you should go to a therapist. Therapists can be really helpful.

Then why let her go after graduation? And even if breakup happened, why no makeup and followup?

But then again, I have no history of romance so I guess I'm just not the right person for this kind of discussion.

Though personally, I think consulting very close friends or even therapists is gonna do more good than throwing this into the lake full of crocs like online (especially gaming) forums.

Hey dude, I really understand and relate to you. But honestly, I know this wont make you feel any better but, sometimes you'll have to accept what your current life is and appreciate it. The fact that you have a loving wife is already great. You'll just have to let go sometimes of the most dear things to you, infact, it is better for your health. So my advice to you is, invest in the things you have rather than seeking what is hard to reach. May you find happiness!
