So apparently GP is considered a support when being sorted in the store

but isn't listed as a support...

Update: So Jhin is listed as assassin, but doesn't show up in the assassin's sorting. Is this just me or does anyone else have this?

Everyone gets listed by their primary role. Jhin is a marksman before being considered as an assassin so he is listed as a marksman. Gangplank is listed as a fighter in his primary role and so he will not show up in the support tab.

But some champions are categorized incorrectly. For instance Nunu is listed as a support, Leona is listed as a tank, Akali is listed as an assassin,Urgot is listed as a marksman, and the list goes on. But just be aware that unless it was a newly released champion a lot of those champion labels are incorrect and obsolete. You really can't go by Riot's own labels anymore.

GP is listed as a support because before the rework he could be played as one. He e gave free stats to him and when activated gave it to his allies. His passive used to let him permaslow enemies and fighting inside of an enemy GP ult is never a good idea.

Also can u please tell me why akali isn't an assassin?And btw leona is a tank. Only reason she is played exclusively as a support is because she cannot proc her own passive.In a solo lane leona essentially has no passive.

Old GP, yes. He wasn't a very good support though. The attack speed/move speed buff was negligible compared to others (Zilean, Kayle, Lulu, Karma, Nunu) and his passive put him in harms way very frequently. There are other reasons as to why he was a poor support option but you get the picture. Akali is recently being played as a tank. Weird, I know. But its viable and actually her strongest role. Assassin is her secondary role now. Leona is still a tank... as her secondary role. And you pointed out exactly why she is a support. Her passive.

Except for the fact that they can show up for secondary roles too (<-- I double checked this just to make sure), and Jhin's secondary role is Assassin. I'm not sure if its just him not showing up in his secondary role or if there are others, but I wanted to point this out.
