why don't people play monkey much anymore?

Monkey? Wu. I looked up his current builds and watched some videos and gave him a run and he is fun. One of many champs I don't see much. I decided to try to fit him in more as long as trolling teemo is top. Just curious.

too reliant on having ult up IMO, all the meta champs offer more than him.

other than that he's fine, just like any non meta champ there are better champions but he's fine.

It's better people don't play Wu if you ask me.

Wu's kick my ass and tilt me pretty bad. Then they always tell me to improve me skills and find them again. But every time I do, I'm still no match. Even when I got the monkey and ascended to Super Saiyan (got the Radiant skin), it still wasn't enough... item 3070

So the less I see of that monkey shaking his butt in my face, the better! D'; http://i3.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/010/344/exit.gif

He is currently weak as a Jungler (the role he was balanced as) since he depends on early game ganks and mid game to transition to a somewhat good late game. He is a heavy ganker jungler but since his clears and sustain are quite poor he struggles if there are no target to gank becoming close to useless late game besides a ult on 3 people before blowing up in 0.5 sec without killing anyone.

Top laner he is decent, problem is current top laners has a way to either force trades with close to limitless resources or have a way to sustain in lane to survive the poke due to being unable to get into trades as often (Top lane currently is heavily trade reliable). Wukong has limited resources early game with his low mana pool and high costs, that in addition with no in-built sustain leave you with a way of playing him similar to Pantheon, depending only in his early game to be able to be threat late game, there are variety of champions that re better at doing so.

Yes is mana is a issue as well as his mobility if you get caught out to far in lane with no escape. But is harass is good. It isn't his meta either but some champs can thrive in this meta. I feel if teams comp allows it. I have not Jg him. I played him top lane 2 times then I usually roam in Jg to a lane. I played him on twisted last night and had fun against Voli. I would assume he come back around again. Someone posted how annoying he is to face and a decent Wu player is frustrating. When I looked up his current counter well it is half the roster. So selection is limited.
