Instalockers really need to be cracked down on.

Seriously, it's one of the most toxic things you can do in the lobby. Nothing quite says like "Fuck you" to the four other people on your team by instalocking your Riven or Vayne or whatever, completely disregarding everyone else and forcing your whole team to pick around your selfish ass. It's even better when said instalockers then proceed to not say anything at all and force everyone else to scratch their heads and wonder where the hell they're going and then you're stuck with a shitty teamcomp because that Vladimir was going mid after all. I mean yeah, role calling is a pretty rudimentary system but it's the best we have in blind and it should be respected. I've noticed that the problem is especially prevalent in low levels, you're almost guaranteed to have one asshole that locks in within 3 seconds and you either relent to him or enjoy your 5 minute delay.

We should discuss ideas on how we can cut down on instalocking, or at least punish the people who do. There's no reason for it and it's one of the most annoying things that happen in Blind Pick.

its pretty simple actually, create a 10-15 second window once the lobby has been made that no one can pick anything. Giving teams a chance to call lanes.

Also, you need to be able to report people for lobby violations, like insta-locking and not saying where you are going even when asked, this very easily goes under refusing to communicate with team. So this means that Riot needs to start recording the chat log from the lobbies as well, which again is a pretty simple task.

This can also help toxic chat as well, as a lot of times it originates in the lobby its self. but since its not recorded you wont get in trouble for anything you say in the lobby.

There is no "call order" in blind pick, never has been. Totally imaginary system, nobody has to respect that. You pick whatever you want and you go where ever you want. Thats blind pick, absolutely nothing wrong with instalocking.

I know its a system which promotes toxic behavior, its sad yes, but creating imaginary rules and raging to other players when they dont submit to your will makes you even more toxic. "Troll pick" doesnt exist in blind pick, theres nothing you can do about that.

Just to clarify, i do hate blind pick, i do hate instalocking, i do hate not communicating with team... But more than anything i hate players who think they have more right to go mid lane when they yell "MIDMIDMIDMID" faster in lobby chat than anyone else, and then cry "report report report" when someone else picks that lane. Makes me wanna puke everytime.

If you feel like playing Janna mid in blind pick, theres nothing to stop you. Instalocking is not toxic behavior. The system itself is toxic because it allows such behavior.

They already have a solution for insta lockers, its called teambuilder.

Simple solution. Play team builder. Everyone gets what they want.

Everyone keeps on saying "use Teambuilder" but it still means low levels are shafted because they can't access it. I use Teambuilder practically all the time so that I don't have to deal with instalocking bs on my main but anyone from levels 1 to 24 don't have that luxury. And honestly, I know that role calling is a shitty system for sorting out who goes where but it's the best thing we have. Honestly, Blind Pick just needs a major revamp, it's really crap and promotes the wrong types of behaviour.

My solution to always be able to pick my role: Main support. My favorite support at the moment is Galio

I call top 10 seconds later... xin autolocks flash ignite "I'm top" proceeds to build shiv into pd .... we still won somehow

I'm not even sure why we can lock in within a second. It shouldn't be difficult for Riot to disable locking in until 5 or 10 seconds after they pick champs.
