I finally did it...
It took me all season but I successfully climbed from Bronze 5 to Gold 5 maining support.

Grats :D Now, don't get banned or restricted, and if you get restricted work it off before the 11th or your work will be wasted.
Congrats my fellow summoner!
wow i thought that was literally impossible. congrats
It's possible with the right mentality and the right champion. In my case that champion was Leona.
Give us the whole story of your journey sometime
Okay,
I was silver 4 last season but really bad to be honest. I went 3/7 in promos and got placed in Bronze 5. So instead of giving up I decided to try and climb, I then realized that bronze adcs from a mechanical perspective weren't too bad, their CSing and positioning and everything else were but I realized that that wouldn't matter if they were given a good support who could get them ahead and keep them ahead, if they mowed people the opposition before they could get to them the positioning wouldn't really matter, so I needed an impactful champion who fit with my playstyle, which is why I picked up Leona, this was the best decision I made this season because I could make plays, protect myself and others be really tanky and most importantly punish those all too common positioning errors. I found out this season that it's easier to play support and win with a bad carry than to try and carry with a bad support who does nothing or constantly dies
What a lot of supports in bronze and even silver is that they A. Don't play support and just play a mediocre thresh B. They have no idea who how to play support and end up either endlessly engaging, or being afk in a bush all laning phase. C. They pick sona to be annoying. D. They're one of those blitz players where the one hook they land pulls the enemy's 30/0 full damage Rengar right to your carries E. They pick "supports" like Annie and don't buy any wards or utility items and go full damage F. The legendary support Riven who goes AFK 10 minutes in
Once I learned how to pick my fights and make smart engages as Leona I immediately started climbing fast, I was out of bronze in less than 200 games, though it wasn't all Leona, I also played a lot of jungle and mid lane, in the jungle I played volibear because of how often people randomly fight you and I also picked a lot of junglers who could gank easily, like rammus vi and sejuani so you can snowball teammates who would otherwise lose lane.
For the midlane I played a lot of fizz because he's really good at winning games and setting people on tilt, but he wasn't the best mid laner, my secret weapon who I believe to be the best midlander in bronze is actually Diana, her burst outplay potential mobility cc and surprising tankiness are just too much for those diamond smurf zed mains you see so frequently in bronze that all in you no matter how fed you are. My Diana win rate in bronze was something stupid like 80% it was actually pretty dumb.
Once I got to silver I had an easier time with slightly better players and I climbed silver even faster, I'd hit silver one by June and I got overconfident. I stopped playing Leona and started playing other roles, I got demoted and promoted 4 or 5 times before remembering that Leona existed in early October and then eclipsed 20 lp in silver one for the first time and got all the way to promos which I would lose due to mostly throwing and bad luck, in fact I was 2-0 multiple times. I ended up failing gold promos 6 times before finally winning the last promo game when I was 2-2 by backdooring as rammus. Don't ask how that happened but it did, and now I'm gold.
same. I started from bronze 3 though
Good job. <3
I climbed from Bronze 5 to Silver 5 yesterday.
I went from trash, to lesser trash
Dumpster to Roadside trash receptacle. Next step Gold, er I mean Household trash can.
Dumpster/Roadside Trash Can/ Household Trash Can/ Shredder Waste/ Office Desk/ Note Pad/ Computer. XD
There's still time to get to plat! :D
I'm not sure I'm that good tbh, not sure if I can improve or not.
Grats man. Last year I stared as bronze 1, climbed to silver 4 immediately with a huge win streak then kept going back and forth from 4-5 silver until I just started duoing more with a friend jungle main and got a really lucky string. gold 3 Now and basically stagnant and just trying to practice some control mages since I think they are going to be a must play with the new season. I always was more of an AP assy guy, Leblanc and Diana bring my two bae's. And when 6 starts I'm not sure if they will be as powerful... By the way I have to say that the one nice thing about gold is most of the games are usually somewhat close. Silver always seemed like one team was blowing out the other whether you were on the winning side or losing side...
