Why garen doesnt use mana or energy?

I understand if you say that energy is for ninjas (if we forget about lee sin).

I'm sure i'm not the first asking this, but i havent found the answer, so if someone can tell me, please do!

Because Garen is a simple champion, intended to be one of the champs beginners use to become familiar with the game. Garen doesn't have complex mechanics, or plays a little minigame, or manage a resource. The villain mechanic is about as complex as it gets for Garen, and that's all done for you.

If someone is new to the game, you don't make them play someone like Syndra or Jayce or Elise . Nope, you give them the beginner champs with simplistic abilities like Annie or Ashe or Garen . Since Garen is resourceless, new players won't have to worry about resource management on top of all the other things like mini-map awareness, last hitting, warding, timing jungle buffs and objectives, and other basic things that even gold and plat level players still have trouble with.

Because of riven. Garen is the BEST champion to fight riven with, BECAUSE he doesnt need mana. She cant make him waste his resource bar cause he doesnt have any, so she cant snowball off him unless hes a really bad Garen player.

hmm i dont really like those answers, i dont believe he's good against riven because he doesnt use mana, and now that you bring her, she should use mana or energy aswell.

Gnar Katarina RekSai Renekton Rengar Riven Shyvana Tryndamere All of these are resoureless champions. Are you saying they all need to have mana? I left out Aatrox Mordekaiser Rumble Vladimir Since they either use Hp, or have a limiter place on them for spamming. There are plenty of kit's like Garens.

There are champs who empower they AA's with mana, like jax and i'm sure there are more than jax

Most of Garen's kit, like Riven's, are just empowered Auto Attacks, which are inherently Resource-less. Since you can't gate AAs with Mana, and there are already Champs with Rage, they deceided to just make him Resourse-less to have a different theme and playstyle.
