If you're not interested in this, don't bother reading.

I played a tiny bit a lol before dota. I have been playing dota for approximately 3 years now and I became insanely stressed in balancing my transition from senior to adult and my gaming life. Most of my friends play lol and they completely respect my dedication towards Dota 2 and they also know they do not have the time to learn another game with extra mechanics in the game (no flame). I decided to take a break from dota after losing 300 mmr and started playing lol with my current friends. Usually playing in a party only.

I've been playing for almost 2 weeks and I must say it's a refreshing feeling. This may be my starting brain speaking, but I have a perspective that LoL is alot more practical to win compared to Dota 2's theory side. (no flame).

Here's my impressions:

  • Starting off my first game in a 5 stack felt like nothing new, I started off using Lol preset key bindings in dota so that might be it. I was able to last hit, kite, quickly level up my ult using ctrl r and then casting. This was nothing new to me, I was playing ashe. -Coming to Lol pub games, it certainly matched my expectations. The community in Lol imo is far more childish and honestly felt like they were 13 years old. I have history of having weeaboos, tumblr users and LoL players being the same. (not uncommon, trust me. I know that 'phase')
  • There is also the conception that Lol is more unbalanced due to the different prices of Lol champions, runes etc. which honestly doesn't really matter at this stage, perhaps in ranked.
  • Abilities felt much more simpler
  • There are alot of bots.
  • Towers are like literal glass cannons, if you get teamwiped prepare to lose a tower or a nexus. Compared to dota, this makes me think that teamwipes in the later stages of the game are more punishing.
  • It's easier to comeback, easier to throw and harder to snowball because you don't lose gold on death.

I don't really know what else to say but I guess **TL:DR **- Lol is a really fun game compared to dota, Lol tryhards probably also get as stressed as we do when you guys get higher ranks and thats fine. I just sometimes can't take LoL seriously, nor its community.

That's similar to how I felt when I first started LOL. Now that I'm used to lol, it can still get pretty stressful in competitive ranked. Now, when I try to play dota again, I feel my skills have declined so much that I dont even know how I died or why the map is so dark or why it takes so long to get to lane.

It's like some one got so used to swimming in a pool that they struggle to swim in an ocean.
