Reasons:

  1. Riot SCREWED the west coast, Hawaii, and Alaska with their server change, the game is unplayable in those regions. Going from 45 ping to 100 ping is incredibly frustrating. I have not gone positive in a single ranked game since the change occurred. Not one.

  2. Riot has continuously shown it cares less about the game or the people who play it, than the money the game brings in. This is a negative quality in any business (no one would buy a used car from someone like that... or food... or really anything at all if they're not pushovers).

  3. The in-game items are really expensive and unobtainable for anyone who isn't A)hustling someone or B) rich as f@%k. Eight dollars to put a new dress on Ashe and I can't even give the dress to someone else, is rediculous. To put that eight dollar price point in perspective, in Dota 2 most items are ten cents or less.

  4. Speaking of Dota, they just had a tournament with an 18 MILLION dollar prize pool. That's $18,000,000 dollars for ONE weekend of DOTA2... and riot wouldn't even give us Pool Party Mundo!!!!!!!!!

  5. That reminds me! I never got my free champ for the pool party, I sent a customer service request, received an automated response about waiting for 2 weeks, and never heard back from them again. Then when I see a Rioter on the game he tells me to send in a support ticket...?!?! Another shining example of the complete disregard Riot has for it's player base in ALL DEPARTMENTS.

  6. It's not like the player base is really nice group of people though.. League of Legends has the rudest, most immature group of players I have ever dealt with. They are foul and disgusting in all areas of the game, even non-ranked games and "fun" games like aram. Literally every game there is someone acting like a complete jerk. I've never played a match where no one called for a report or called someone a shitter, etc. Even games we are winning the kids jump on all chat to grind their negativity into someone else no matter what.

(I've been told to kill myself more times on League of Legends than I have ever been told COMBINED in my entire life before I started playing. )

  1. The game requires it's players to be absolutely Sloth-like to have any chance of being good. If you intend to play League, 8 - 15 hours a day is commonplace (and won't even get you an entire champ's worth of ip..) Assuming a player makes 150 ip a game (which is more than I normally make but whatever) and he wanted to buy a 4800 ip champ (which isn't even the most expensive one) he would need to play 32 games in order to obtain it. If each game was 45 minutes long, it would take 24 HOURS of work to get a champ. Considering there are 120+ champions... to get them all it would take 2880 hours of play time which is about 450,000 ip (yes, four hundred and fifty thousand ip) or about 2160 games. To think anyone other than the most hardcore gamers would ever come close to this goal is obsurd. And there's runes too....

In conclusion, this game negatively impacts my life in all aspects. Physically, it makes me unhealthier. Mentally, it is draining due to the terrible people who play it. Monetarily, it's a huge money pit with no chance of ever retrieving it. Even spiritually; I find myself asking questions about the nature of man, and whether or not it's true that we are all evil. If you ever play League you will see the evil in the heart of the average person come out in full force.

This game is a drain on my life. It impacts my life negatively. I uninstalled and I don't mind losing the skins or the time invested...

@Riot: I hope you enjoyed my company while I was here because I did NOT enjoy yours.

  1. You seriously can't play with 100 ping? Man, the west coast had it too easy.
  2. Companies have to make money. However, Riot is actually engaged in the community.
  3. Fine, go play DOTA. Bye!

  5. Toxic players didn't get free champions. Based on the tone of this post, I'd say that's the problem.
  6. I agree that the community isn't the best, but not all games are as bad as you describe.
  7. with at least one win, you can average 130-150 a game over three games a day, which will probably take around 2 hours. Then, you choose what champion you want based on your playstyle. Choices are fine. Owning all the champions is an unrealistic goal if you haven't been playing for long.

In conclusion: If you hate it that much, just leave and spare us all the trouble.

  1. the ping diff wasnt gonna help you anyways, you're bronze 5. which means you hardly go positive in the first place.

  2. you have been told to kill yourself more than anytime in your life because you are bronze 5 and you prolly cost your team the game.

  3. have fun on dota, another bad bronze 5 player gone.

Maybe you should just wait and see what they do with the west coast? And as a Dota player... I can assure you, on the surface they may seem similar ...but dota and league are VERY different. And its especially hard going to dota from league. Fair warning.

How exactly does it impact your life negatively? just wondering. Do u play too much? I find this game a fun way to relax and play a couple games after work, school, or before a party. Its something that is fun to do on my spare time. If you don't like the game best wishes elsewhere.
