Revamping the Mastery System
So, it's been a common grievance since ever that the mastery system needs more pages. I mean, when was having only 20 mastery pages ever enough? In 2009 when there were only 40 champions? In 2015, there are currently 123 champions, and with that said, it's time to fix the extremely antiquated mastery system. Here is my idea:
Instead of having 20 mastery pages that you can use across any champion, give us 3 mastery pages per champion. Whenever you click on a champion that you own or don't (eventually they'll be free) in your champions page, three blank mastery pages will pop up. You can then customize each of the pages to how you want so you can have say Darius Tank, Darius Glass Cannon, Darius Trololo. Then, upon entering a game lobby and selecting a champion, your mastery pages pop up for that specific champion, and you select which one you want.
In order to avoid the redundancy of having to enter very similar mastery pages such as ADC, you either have a "template" option where you create a template that you can copy across champions, or simply a button that allows you to copy a mastery page you already created for a different champion.
I think this system would encourage creativity and experimentation. Currently, with 20 mastery pages, I don't play every champion as much as I would like to. This is because I know that if I want to play one for which I don't already have a mastery page, I'll have to delete one that I already have. And I use all of my mastery pages. And if I do decide to delete a mastery page and create a new one, I then have to remember or look up how to set up masteries for that champion.
By allowing us to have mastery pages set up for each champion already, that would reduce the amount of extra work we have to put into creating mastery pages and get us playing the game that we want to play.
