I don't know why, maybe it was Imagine Dragons, maybe it was SSW against SSB, but I swear last year's LCS was way cooler than this year. Or maybe it was the fact that SKT basically had a clean sweep? Or that it was 100% obvious who would win this year. But Riot has to put more attention into every year's LCS, not more attention to one then less the other.

Lugg1 votesThe big difference is that no one expected SSW to be a clear favorite to win, let alone do what they did. That made Worlds last year much more fun to watch.
Toastey1 votesAre you kidding me? SSW were the clear favourites for the entirety of the tournament. People were expecting maybe OMG or maybe another really good Chinese team to give them a good run in the finals, but everybody expected SSW to win. They were just bodying anyone and everyone at every single point in the tournament.
People on the analyst desk repeatedly talked about how SSW were so far above the competition. Pros (both those competing and those watching from home) were talking about how SSW were god-tier and untouchable. Dyrus literally said something like, "There's everybody else, and then up here you've got Samsung White."
CKwoka269471 votesLCS was so boring. RIot tweaking the game has led to pros choosing the most boring champions: Ryze, mordekaiser, gragas, rumble, maokai. Everyone gasps when someone picks a lee sin or a riven. there is something wrong with this.
YCitizenSnipsY1 votesWell its not like Riot can do anything about who the best teams are. How would you have changed the way SKT ran the tournament, should everyone past groups just been given a two game handicap against them?
Personally I think location was a big part in why it seemed the event was lack luster. The EU crowds were just so lame, they had no energy at all.
Also Riot did let down with the no orchestra performance or live performance like seasons past.
