Taric Rework - has Riot/League become too scared/PG?

I dunno looking at the new Taric vs the old Taric....they talk about how "fabulous" he is but I feel like they definitely toned it down. Whereas before there may have been some kind of a hint as to his sexuality, the new Taric is far less "fabulous" and I feel a bit less campy.

Riot being a company and game that I believe promotes diversity (featuring gay couples and people in their videos) seems a bit at odds with this new Taric who basically has removed any and all hint of campyness or perhaps even a twinkle of possible alternate sexuality.

Generally I feel as far as Riot's artwork, games, and characters go, they are becoming more and more afraid to take any kind of risk no matter how small it may be. I don't know if they are becoming more successful and thus more corporate, or if it is a change in leadership or what...

But I feel like their caution and their constant erring on the side of caution has become borderline lame. Like, in the age of M and NC17 rated PC games and all the crazy stuff you see in console games now, why must Riot be so scared to step on any kind of fingers or toes? To me it feels like they have been thematically castrated, and completely unneccessarily.

Or maybe he wasn't supposed to be gay? I don't have anything against gays by all means, but the whole Taric being gay thing was a joke, nothing more

The simple explanation to this is that ten cent happened.

The new company ten cent is Chinese owned and operated and have their own way of doing things. So you will start to notice small censorship changes like removing the liquid from inside Gentleman Cho'gath's glass to the way events are run. If you notice with some of the new artwork updates they changed the look of some champions skins who really did not need it. Evelynn is the only one who looks better with the latest update. Twisted Fate is the biggest travesty in the new splash upddates. That one is just awful.

But in Taric's case they really don't want to make him confirmed gay in fear of ostracizing him from being picked as a champion. Being gay still isn't viewed as a positive quality and in China it is not as accepted as in the west. While they probably have a strong urge to revile Taric for being gay, they will not publicly acknowledge it for fear of what it may do to their profits. So yes, they will play it safe.

I mean I'm not saying it was implied that he was gay...

But he definitely was alot more campy and "fabulous" than his new milquetoast self.

I feel like Riot is taking less and less risk in the things they are doing thematically and in game.

or you know gay people dont all have to fit the stereotype??? like.....mmmmmm

people dont have to be uber-fabulous and campy in order to have an "alternate sexuality"
