Is Taric at a good spot at the moment?
Not many people play him and I thinking about picking I'm up as my auto fill support.

He's awkward, especially because of the mage support craze since they hit him hard. If you can survive lane you can scale well, but a support that's weak early game is a challenge and a half to play.
With 50% win rate he is in a good spot.
Still strong against AD comp teams, since his W and E scales with bonus armor, he has game changing ultimate, nice stun, OK heal and good shield. My friend, support main has great winrate on Taric and says Taric is easy and strong.
I disagree, I think he is quite hard, especially in soloQ. You have to put your Bastion on the right person, and aim your Dazzle in the right angle. That may be challenging for low elo players like myself.
Also heal takes up ages to ramp up, but maybe I am just biased because I am used to Soraka's 1 sec CD on W that heals 200+hp :-)
But if oyu like Taric and have fun playing him, just go for it. Who cares at what spot he is? You can carry with any champion in any division from any role... if you're good enough and give it enough time to learn ;-)

He is decent, I find him pretty good vs teams that are melee/divers.
Taric has no good answer to poke and can be kited so he is poor against mage sups. If you have one of the lane bully adc you will be better off with a sup with a hook. But otherwise he may be the best choice, you can win a lot of games with him. Especially higher elo im sure, because Taric falls short if you your fed Alkali doesnt have the balls to go in when you ult or you mage zhonyas during ult etc.
