Some tips for new players

Hey I thought I would give a few tips that could help new players out in the game.

  1. Try to jump into pvp as soon as possible. Ok you might look at me crazy here but hear me out, fighting against actual players is probably one of the best ways to learn any game not just league and sure you might get decimated at first but keep at it you will improve. Main reason you want to jump into pvp as soon as possible is because bots don't teach you much, sure you can learn a champion mechanics but you wont get to far do to bots being easily exploited. Last reason is because pvp games give more ip than bot games but don't worry to much about ip at the moment.
  2. Find a champion you like. I find league more fun if you play champions that you enjoy, that being said you do not have to go crazy with rp to play one that you may or may not like, infact some of the champions you may enjoy are 450/1350 champions. as for anything above that I would use the rotating champ list that updates weakly and try to play every champ that they show in hopes that you may enjoy said champions.
  3. Do not worry if you lose games. Losing games in league may teach you more than actually winning, that being said if you get harassed for being dead weight on a team try to help in other means and shrug off their complaints. Try to see how you lost the game like did they have enough cc to make everyone unable to move and had burst to follow it so everyone died, or was someone caught guard by {Insert Champion Here}, perhaps the team did not have enough wards and the enemy used the fog to assassinate you. In these situations try to adjust your play in order to counter these situations, an example would be the part about not having wards try to urge your team to buy pinks and use their trinkets.
  4. Try to be positive This might be hard considering how toxic this community can be but there are good people in this community and you may not meet these people if your being negative. Try to be nice to both the enemy and your team when your both winning and losing, this way you may meet people who are nice and willing to teach you a thing or 2 about the game. About that last line about meeting people who can help you learn I thought I would use it to move into my next point.
  5. Smurfs can be good You may see people who feel like they are not new players but are playing at around your level, in these situations try to ask them for pointers, also see how they positions themselves and learn. If an enemy is a smurf sure you might lose lane but try to pay attention to their movements and learn to adapt to them. Smurfs can be good leaders and may make calls you wont normally see around your level like when you should go for objectives like dragon or towers, or when to start a teamfight. However like I said smurfs can be good but not always, some of them are jerks who insult players for whatever reason, in this case don't bother listening to them especially if they are being toxic but keep an eye on their movements still, might learn a thing or 2 still.
  6. This is a team game try not to do things all alone Just a simple point try to do things with your team and not by yourself if possible. In a situation where you may have fed a laner try to ask your team for help but don't beg by using pings every 2 seconds instead form a plan of attack and try to tell your team to go in when an area is not warded. even if someone is fed if you ambush him with multiple people he wont stand a chance. Also the more fed an enemy is the more shutdown he is worth and this can make your team come back from the brink. Its better to spread kills than have one person with them all in the case he were to die.
  7. Kills do not matter as much as you think With the exception of first blood you do not get that much gold by killing a laner. You get around 300 gold for your first kill that degrades the more kills you have and the more deaths your target has. 1kill is worth about 1-2 minions waves so while dying is bad its not the end of the world so long as you can keep farming minions and help your team take objectives or hunt the enemy whenever possible.
  8. Have fun and remember it is just a game

These are some tips I manage to come up with but if you would like to add things to this list post about them in the comment box, remember its better to get advice from more than one person if possible.
