When will intentional trolls get whats coming to them?

So far leaver buster, verbal abuse/offensive language, and intentional feeding have received upgrades. What about those who intentionally troll? There is no good report for these players. Negative attitude in no way covers their actions and assisting enemy team doesn't seem like it fits either. What do you report them for then? I feel intentionally trolling by any means should result in a temporary suspension from ranked similar to what leaverbuster does if you afk or leave a ranked game.

Define trolling........ What you consider trolling may not actually be trolling. Everything I consider trolling fits under either negative attitude or assisting enemy team.

trolling to me is someone intentionally not grouping, not helping teammates in need that ask for it, trying to take another persons role in select who has already picked, or picking a terrible champ for a role because they didnt get the role they wanted (ex teemo jungle). That is trolling in my opinion. while it fits under negative attitude or assisting enemy team, neither have anywhere near sever enough punishment. The problem persists because the system currently does not take action against it. The only way to truly report trolls right now is via manual support ticket and it is questionable whether anything is done with those tickets.

this is primarily for ranked solo/duo though.

There's nothing in the game that says certain champs should ALWAYS been played in these roles. Out of meta choices have been around forever.

I didn't say certain champs have to always be played, but there are those that for obvious reasons are not a good pick for the role or for the team. Going out of your way to do that in order to piss off the others you are matched with is toxic and should not be tolerated like it currently is.

Split pushing is viable. Avoiding a losing fight is smart. Fighting 1v5 is assisting enemy team. Going with the group and baiting team in a 4v5 by always just walking away once it fights is assisting enemy team. Not helping a team mate that asks is not trolling sometimes there are a lot of reasons not to help them esp if they get caught out or fed the lane so hard you would just die anyways.

Off meta choices are not bad. Right now TF jungle is a common pick and before patch 4.20 you would have considered that trolling.

As far as the severity of those reports both can lead to perma bans. I think that is the most severe punishment Riot does. Teemo jungle takes almost no damage if ya know how to kite and free ward coverage is very nice.

split pushing and intentionally avoiding your team are 2 different things. When your team is saying please group and you refuse with no real reason that is trolling. TF jungle has always been a thing actually. it would also take hundreds of reports before a flag even popped up... that is an incredible amount of games.

As for your reasoning for helping a losing lane... If they ask for help you should put an effort in to assist them, even if it isn't in your favor. Bring in the mid laner if it is going to be tough, there are always options, but ignoring someone asking for help is not one of them.

Well, I think the first step is adding a "report and leave" option to your queues. You still receive the same penalty for leaving but can report a player for verbal abuse in champ select, or more frequently for threatening to troll if they don't get their preferred role (or for not saying anything and picking something that is expected to be in a role that's already been taken.

I mean currently, if someone does these things and draws a Dodge, they don't get reported for it (outside of submitting a ticket which probably happens less than 1% of the time). First deal with this, then we can see if other problems persist.

well said. this is another persistent toxic behavior that goes under the radar because of the inability to report in select. It also cannot be investigated because the game terminates the records of a dodged game (I think it does at least). I'm not sure a report AND leave feature is necessary but a report feature would be nice.

Well my thought was if you're not leaving then you actually play the game and the lobby is recorded in that report (contrary to popular belief) so you can report them after (for more if they actually troll, or just for threatening if they happen to play legitimately as threatening for your favorite rule is unfair to those who give it to you).

if the game follows through it can be reported. If it doesn't though it is just another case of toxic behavior going unpunished.
