A respectful discussion about the badboy, nerf junkie, underdog Kassadin.
Dear Rito friends. I have some genuine concerns and questions about your plans for Kassadin
beyond the VU (Which looks great if i might add) and your motives behind all of the ruthless nerfing to the poor guy!
Kassadin
has been one of my favorite champs since S2. The cool adventurer, tortured with the knowledge of a mysterious impending doom, who's only weapon he possesses to fight it; is the Void itself. What's not to like about this guy?
I've noticed that his killing potential (and now escape/gap closing potential) has seen a steady decline over the years. His Q has been nerfed through the floor and his ult range has been cut in half. I'm not too upset about the range nerf, in fact i sort of agree with it. That pesky bugger was borderline impossible to gank before the range was reduced! I'm more concerned with the lackluster damage of his other abilities.
When unleashing a full combo against another AP mid squishy it just feels like my damage pales in comparison to many of the other mid laners. If i had unleashed the same combo with the same items playing as Akali or Leblanc they would have had to recall on account of being absolutely dumpstered. I understand that Leblanc and Kassadin are extremely different champions, each with very different roles upon the Fields of Justice, but when you think mid lane assassin, you think squishy, mobile devastating damage dealers. Kassadin certainly fits the role of mobile, but I find he lacks the damage you'd expect from an assassin.
To conclude, what are your plans for Kassadin? Do you have anything lined up in the near future (Beyond the VU)? Can you possibly explain the reasoning behind all of the nerfs to Kassadin (I've never found him to be OP after S3)?
Thanks to any Reds who decide to grace me with their much appreciated comments.
Much love
