But remember MM, each game is different and may require different final builds and different build paths. Do you have a number of items on your list for morde, and if so, what are they?

You might change item 3065 with item 3742 if the enemy team is AD heavy and item 3157 with item 3151 / item 3001 if you face a tanky team that built a lot of MR.

I think his basic build is something along the lines of:

item 1311 or item 1306 or item 1316 or item 1321 , item 3116 item 3053 item 3742 item 3001

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is pretty much his core item though since it allows his ultimate to slow his target for 10 seconds, making it much easier to stick to them. You pretty much always rush it first.

What about gunblade? Is that an option on him? Seems like it would be.

IIRC, all of his abilities are counted as AoE (including his Q). Healing is thus reduced to a third. In addition, Hextech Gunblade is quite expensive for providing no defensive stats aside from its passive healing.

I may be wrong, but I think Mordekaiser is better off getting early health (through Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Sterak's Gage) for the durability they provide.

I believe he did say its good to get on him once again... But don't rush it. Ever. I think. Best rush still is item 3116 from what I understand.

I think rylais is core, along with steraks and alacrity enchant on boots. Most get rylais first but sometimes can be best to rush a jarum's first, then get rylais, for the bonus health stacking. Remember, completing an item isn't necessarily the BEST option while building, just a good one.

Also I don't personally like gunblade that much either, not enough defensive stats on it for a juggernaut.

Gunblade is expensive and doesn't heal as much on its own, but there are several reasons I consider this also quite a core item on Morde myself.

While it doesn't heal much, it certainly heals for at least the health cost, making your abilities free. No more self-poke.
R is single target, which turns the 100% spellvamp from his ult into 115%.
Both Q and E scale with total AD, making this item do loads of damage.
The active slow is great, since the range is slightly larger than your ultimate. This let's you use it to get the enemy in range, then cast your ult, slowing them further for 10 seconds, then run up and rek them.

I love Gunblade on Mordekaiser.
