Calling someone "Autistic" is a really dumb insult for League

So what makes you better at video games?

Social skills or math?

Obviously not Social skills

And those who are diagnosed with Autism often struggle with understanding social rules and cues but are proven to be extremely proficient at math, science, engineering, and other like subjects. Famous individuals such as Einstein, Tesla, and Mozart (to name a spare few) were thought to have Autism or a similar social defect.

While calling someone Autistic in real life indicates that you're calling them socially inept and/or immature, calling someone Autistic in a video game where social skills matter much less is kind of like saying "you're intelligent".

And while you are going to need social skills to co-operate with your team in League- No wait, you aren't because you can ping.

Thus concludes why you should consider calling someone "stupid" rather than "Autistic" (unless you are a psychiatrist).

######Cue the downvotes.

This is why I usually stick to calling people potatoes.

Example 1 Ally Dies Me: You're a fucking potato.

Example 2 Ally Dies Me: You have the map awareness of a fucking potato.

Agreed, people with Autism are far more intelligent and skilled then most of the people I play with in my games. http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/000/043/disaster-girl.jpg

You know what really bugs me? Like besides how annoying and offensive it is? It's not creative! Like looking in this thread alone I got so many better things to call people! Like, show you have more brain cells than the person you are insulting and actually say something that doesnt sound like you're a lazy south park writer lol.

I got called an expletive AUSTISTIC during a game we won, and I carried, because I didn't follow the aggressive Thresh support into a 2 v 4. He later called me "expletive stupid" when 4 were dead on the enemy team and I recalled during Baron (I was Ahri and everyone else was on it, no chance of a steal) to prevent the last enemy from taking an inhibitor because the inhib turret was already down. The enemy was fully visible on our map, in our base, hitting inhib. Because I recalled, she wasn't able to finish the inhib.

It was the enemy team who started saying I was a good player because they felt bad about how the Thresh was raging on me while I was making smarter plays.

I reported him and specifically mentioned in my report being called autistic, but nothing ever happened.

Yes, but to them it FEELS more insulting to call someone autistic because they have a gross misunderstanding. It's all about how hurtful they feel they can be. Reason need not apply.

If you're special. go with it, don't make it out to be a superpower.

'A true hero never shines...they sit in the darkness humble and waiting for that perfect moment of glory.'

If I want to insult someone, I'd call them heathens... Heathens waiting a cleansing.

and my soap has +100% crit.

In my personal experience, lobbing an insult in general is never a boon to the team moral high-ground, and is best avoided.

I just tell them they're a silly goose.

No one ever knows how to respond to that.

JESUSSAYSNO5/22/2017, 7:38:03 PM4 votes

It's the freshest social insult. Falls under the same catagory Retard did in the mid 200x era. You're looking too much into it.

TheFancySkeleton5/23/2017, 1:47:08 PM3 votes

That's why I stick to really odd and confusing insults. It's better to confuse 'em then make them angry! "Try a little harder next time, you pug-licking salad fork!" "Almost got me, you chair-breather!" "Next time, try not to be a legless shrimp calling out for it's mother."

Autism doesn't imply being good at non-social activities though.

{quoted} were **thought **to have Autism

I was thought to have autism when I was younger lo and behold I am actually just a psychopath and have an IQ 5 deviations above average

why am I a higher rank than my autistic brother if autism doesnt effect skill in league? exactly.

Colgate Gator5/22/2017, 4:12:59 PM2 votes

I believe you're looking waaay too much into it.

"those who are diagnosed with Autism often struggle with understanding social rules and cues but are proven to be extremely proficient at math, science, engineering, and other like subjects"

Links to the proof? No? Why weren't the patients I was working with during my internship proficient?

Nothing is "proven" in science, that's what the principle of falsifiability is. There is also no serious research suggesting a causal link between the ability to do mathematics/science and autism. The only articles suggesting these links are correlational studies at best, which still don't explain whether or not the ASD is linked to any type of mathematical ability or if there is a third (possibly more) hidden factor trailing along.

Autism is used as an insult because it suggests not just stupid, but mentally retarded. That is not necessarily true, but try explaining that to a salt-driven chimpanzee whose bronze rank equals his number of brain cells. Similarly, the ape species in this game like to abuse yet another term, cancer. "X gave me cancer". I don't know where this trend began, seeing that it's not even funny, it just makes it obvious your tiny butt cheeks wouldn't even handle a tick, let alone a tumor.
