My experience with hextech crafting so far

Cryo00··3 votes·598 views

I know this isn't a lot, but i have opened 13 chests so far,

Here are the results

Zac Champion essence (Burned) Zed Champion essence (Which I unlocked) Dino Gnar X 2 (Burned) Battlecast Urgot (Burned) Aether Wing Kayle (Which I unlocked) Arcade Sona (Burned) Gemstone X 2 (Used as I do no care about hextech annie) Elise Champion Essence (Burned) Pickpocket Twitch (Burned) Professor Ryze (Burned) Tristana legacy (forgot which) (Burned) Blood lord Vladimir (Plan to unlock after I get the champion) Spirit fire Brand (Plan to unlock after I get the champion) Dark valkyrie Diana (Which I unlocked) 200-ish skin essence (I think) Astronaut poro icon

I spent $25 CAD to get potentially $75 CAD worth of stuff, So IMO it was worth

Thank you Riot, keep up the amazing work

I don't think people are going to appreciate this, because you're doing it the p2w way. You get a chest/key every couple of days is you play at a moderate rate, so just throwing that out there guys.

What makes it pay 2 win?

LatetotheRace1 votes

Instead of playing for the bits, he payed for them.

Just because you can unlock it by playing...but you can also buy it...doesn't mean it's automatically pay to win.

Nothing about these boxes help him win...therefor...it's not p2w :O

I get your point, just thought I'd share what I got so far though

It's not p2w, it's pay to get stuff instead of grinding out dozens of games. That's like saying skins are p2w.

" it's pay to get stuff instead of grinding out dozens of games" That is the very definition of pay 2 win dumb ass.

No, pay to win means that you can buy things to make yourself more powerful so the game is easier to beat for those who pay money than those who just play the game for free. Many phone games follow this model where you can only progress so far without spending money and those who do spend money are much stronger.

For example, if Riot sold a boost that gave any character you played bonus AD/AP that would be pay to win.

Cosmetic changes like skins are not pay to win because spending money on them doesn't increase your chance of winning.

With this logic, buying skins is now consider p2w....lol http://www.auplod.com/u/uopadl6d63e.png

So by that logic, unlocking champions with RP instead of IP is p2w? [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Pay to Win is buying OP items in an MMO. Or buying more lives on a free iPhone game. Paying for cosmetics is not pay to win.

The phrase explains itself...PAY TO WIN. Cosmetics do not help you win...which is what these boxes are...cosmetics.

P2W is paying $$ to receive an unfair udge over other players. So yes, buying champions with RP is giving you an advantage over other players (Provided both players are new to the game and have relatively small champion pools) Skins however do not apply. However in this instance he gets things much faster than players who didn't pay. Thus he wins, thus I am still correct.
