I don't like the new champion, because I feel his default look isn't neutral enough, and his "conquered" look isn't angelic enough. I feel it should've been more like Fable 3 as a League of Legends character.

I don't know what "edgelord" means here really nor have I ever heard the community at large talk about Karthus at all, yet alone use a term like that. So I think you paint with a very broad brush there.
As for why Chaos is winning the event over Order, there are lots of reasons to describe that---people generally prefer "evil" over "good" in younger communities like this as that's the more 'cool' aspect. The choice between Yasuo and Riven is like chosing Arsenic over Cyanide---they're both toxic, but with only two choices one of them has to win. Yasuo is very polarizing, but is much more "popular" than Riven to be completely honest.
It's not about being "unique and original" for disliking the new champion. Kayn has some mechanics that are almost certainly balancing nightmares. Much in the way that champions like Malzahar, Azir and Ryze practically impossible to balance because their kits are simply either too strong or too weak as they are with practically no way to have a middle ground based on their design alone.
Kayn appears to be just as the above, time will tell but I would suspect that Kayn is going to be top 10 in terms of banrate and will, if unchecked, climb to a top 15 win rate within about six weeks of release.
A high damage, highly mobile assassin with a heal and the ability to move through walls, you tell me what could possibly go wrong? This champion will either be completely overtuned or absolute garbage---there can be no middle ground with such a design architecture.
I dislike Kayns character. I have a PBE account and can say that Rhaast is fun though. Haven't tried shadow assassin version yet.
Mixed feelings tbh. It's possible for a champion's character to suck but still be fun to play. Character might not even be the right word for all I know
Yasuo is one of the most popular champs in the game lol. People can hate him all they want but at the end of the day there are probably more people who like/ dont mind him. You have to remember the boards is a tiny fraction of the community made up of mostly mage, tank and support mains.
