@Riot: Hextech Crafting has a few problems
It's been some time since Hextech Crafting has been released live, and it's a pretty good reward system that gives players the chance to get stuff for free. However, from the many Hextech box opening videos I have seen, there seem to be 2 main issues with Hextech crafting that I want to address:
-
The champion shards and blue essences are useless for people that have every champion. Many LoL youtubers, and veteran LoL players in general, have either a bunch of blue essence or champion shards accumulated because they have nothing to spend them on. They would have to wait several months for a new champion to be released to even have a chance to re-roll their champion shards, or wait for a miracle and get the champion shard for the new champion so they have a chance to spend their blue essence.

Few people acknowledge the ward skins shards. Thanks to the availability of legacy skins (which btw is amazing, thx Riot. Now, if you decide to put the limited skins in there too I will literary give you ALL of my money), legendary, ultimate, and normal skins in Hextech Crafting, people almost always save their orange essence to upgrade the skin shards of their favorite champions. I have seen many LoL youtubers that ignore ward skin shards since they already have a favorite one that they use, or prefer to disenchant it to unlock champion skins, and I would not be surprised if this was the case for other LoL players.
My suggestion to solve both of these problems would be to change the currency of ward skin shards from orange to blue essences. It gives champion shards and blue essence more purpose for people that own every champion, and gives the ward skin shards more relevance in Hextech Crafting.
