Personally I find it extremely annoying how hard I have to work to get LoL Recorder, or Baron Replays, to work with every new patch. Why the heck can't Riot buy one of these small companies out, higher their programmers, and add their code into the game?

But the reason they don't just ADD one of those in is that those pieces of software are quite buggy and introduce a lot of little issues that cause crashes, disconnects, graphical glitches, etc. to the game(whether you've experienced such or not ;)). So just straight up 'adding' the code from one of those to it is not a good idea....
but ya, they do need to add their own replay setup.
They did at one time have their own in the works on the PBE. I don't know what's going on with it right now though.
