Was it a norm? and ARAM?
If so, its entirely normal for it to be an mmr discrepancy. Because your Normal MMR, does not match your ranked mmr.
Flex Queue and Solo/Duo Q (Formely Dynamic Queue. Yes, you read that right.) have separate MMR.
The fact a bunch of guys you played with or against in Flex Queue were Diamond or Plat last season, means absolutely nothing.
It's no different if you'd play 3v3 Flex Queue. Pretty much nobody ever played 3v3 ranked in previous seasons, so you can play against literally anybody. That doesn't mean they couldn't be Season 6 DQ Masters.
